3M calls those things "Scotch-Brite Wheels". I asked the shop foreman, and he said although other people make them, the 3M ones are what he orders because they last longer. He didn't know where to order them though. He gets them from a local supplier.

The light Grey one (beside the Black one) looks like what we use. I assume the colors are for different grits just like Scotch Brite pads. They must come in varying degrees of firmness too, because I have noticed that some are softer and follow contours better(may just be a quality control thing).

I do know that they last a long time. We still have one at the shop that was new when I started there 9 years ago. It is considerably smaller nowadays though...
