In the last 52 years , the design of 3 and 4 way light switches in houses has changed?

I have changed the old worn out 3 way switches and the wire configuration is a bit different.  Frustrating is a word..  I had one 4 way switch setup.. ?  3 switches operate a set of hallway lights.  WIre diagrams I found online were wrong.  I used Leviton brand switches and finally found a diagram on their website.  I swapped wires around a bit.. specially at the last switch that feeds the lights power was different.  Success finally. after an hour and change.

I have swapped new wall switches on two 3 way systems and the 4 way system this evening.  I have 2 more systems to swap out worn out switches

I worked on the drivers door of the Corvair today.  It's been sitting on a roll around table for a few months, waiting for me to sand the jambs and interior around where the interior panel goes. Yuk!  A lot of hand work.  I've got it sanded and taped up, and will primer it tomorrow.  I still have the door jamb to do on the car, but it's easier than the door.  This is the last of the major primering on the car. I've already hung the right side door and will have to take it off again when I decide what color I'm going to paint the car. Factory color was Capri Cream, then it was repainted something red, then started sanding for a repaint before I bought it.

I was leaning towards another color of red, and the metallic colors really pop, but I haven't painted a metallic total car since the early 80's, and it's something I'm not the best at (the dark blue VW bug came out well with only one small run, but the gold Chevy PU was awful).  Funny thing is, I've never seen another Cream colored Vair since I got this one, so I'm kind of leaning going original, plus it's a solid color, and no BC/CC.

Decisions, decisions.  I bought a dealer promo 67 Corvair that only comes in Capri Cream from an online auction last week.  Paying top dollar was bad enough, but the "tax, title and fees was terrible."  I've enclose a pic of the model on my living room carpet, in case I haven't before.  CRS, you know.
