Hello to all,

I'm new to this site and I'm sure this is not the last question I will be posting here. I have a 1958 Chevy 1/2 ton truck with a 87 5th avenue IFS. Now I want to bring down the rear I thought about just getting a flip kit and relocating the axel on top of the leafs. But now I'm wondering about the reverse eye mono leaf spring kit to get a 5 inch drop. Has anyone of you had experience with them? If so what was it good, bad, or indifferent?

Thanks in advance

Not familiar with the reversed eye mono-leaf setup, but a normal reversed eye main gives close to 3 inches and then going on top of the springs gives the thickness of the spring pack - another couple inches. The flip kit is essentially a couple big C shaped pieces with a center hole in the base to go under the axle and fit up into the existing spring pads, and a set of new u-bolts. Not too hard to fabricate.
