Thanks JB. For the record my very last uncle died two months ago, only once. It was still so hot the cousin wanted to wait until it cooled off some and got more cool than she figured on.

There was an aunt there, seperated by divorce, who Grandma tore out of all the photo albums. It was good to see her but officially I guess she is just the mother of a couple cousins. Aside from her, all are deceased. Of the six siblings, only Mom is left. Like Dad but he was #2 of 2.

It probably appeared as though I was using a same "excuse" twice. (Did not miss any work) But it was just a long time before interment.

All of them lived hundreds of miles away since I was 15 so none were close but Gordon in particular was a regular visitor and was the kind who would haul down his log splitter when a big tree fell and work hard right alongside us.

Good ending to a story about your uncle.

I have the Suburban mask off and ready to paint in the morning.  I am hoping the paint gods will be good to me.

I have a full time guard 24 hours a day in the shop.  I gave him a break today and moved him outside since I am planning to paint in the morning.  The fumes bother him.

How did the "wet-on-wet" application do?

I did metal work all day. :)

The new water pump showed up yesterday for the Impala, so that is today's and probably tomorrow's project.  This evening winter is supposed to show up.  Depending on which channel we listen to from 4 to 12 inches of snow are due to arrive.  High of mid 20s over the next week.  Hopefully back up to mid 40s for Halloween.  Sure glad I have a heated garage. Going out in a short time to turn the heat up.

Helped a friend hang the doors on his 68 GTO that he's redoing. The car is the green of that generation, but he's going with a original blue that looks very much like Marina Blue, but it has a different name. Don't remember the color name, but sure looks good.

The paint project is done for now but I have more to do.  I have the hood to strip and paint and some damage on a front fender to fix and paint.   The wet on wet worked but I did not get the epoxy on wet enough and it took extra paint to make it flow out smooth.  The whole job would go better if I started over today.  I made some mistakes just because I do not paint often and I hopefully would not make those mistakes again.  It was a 12 hour hard day for an old man by the time I painted and cleaned the shop afterwards.

Just welded up about a hunnert rust pit holes on a Bronco bed floor.

John fer what its worth, light sanding in the midst of wet on wet is pretty much standard procedure. As is spotting more sealer on. Both of which may be less valid with epoxy as sealer. Sounds to me like you were successful in making it white and got some mistakes purged for the more critical appearance spots.

This morning... yet another roadblock forcing me over the tracks and bricks and among all the ditzy pedestrians and goofy parker hazards. It is nutso. As am I. Forgot and left phone at home today and am typing on my eldest tablet. Didn't think it would still work.

In a calm act of frustration upon arrival home, seeing that my new mailbox has taken a third lick, I went out there and did a little painting myself. White idiot stripes. Unfortunately I was fresh out of flake to put on there. :)

Mailboxes are the thing today, apparently.  Our oversize box was black, and my wife decided that it needed an upgrade, so she painted it Cranberry with an orange flag. New decals with our address should be here in a day or so, so we can put it back up. For now, I put up our old box with a 57 Chevy Nomad on top.

Looking at a half a foot to a foot of fresh snow, 15 degrees out.  3 more days of the same.  Not really ready for winter.

Your weather is headed my way. Not as severe but enough to wreck my painting work. It is that time of year but I hope it zooms past and gives me a few more warm days to finish the painting.

We are at 16 inches of snow in the last 30 hours now, and still snowing more today.
