That line is a seam in the panel, and it is a smooth curve top to bottom. I can get either rear fender in fiberglass, so reshaping either one is no problem.

The rear tread width is 9" wider than the front.

Oh OK. Well you see what I did, just put a step there that tapers off before the fender. It could land anywhere once height is established. I'd be looking to make any height of bedside adjustments at the bottom so floor and gate remain unaltered.

I can probably stick the other kind of fender up there. My glance thought was to maybe stretch the lip longer on one of those but availability came to mind. Depending on whether you stick with the track width or not... a guy could run a tape line over the fender a couple inches from the bed then side view it to see what that does to the fender shoreline.

I like the Lark bumper and C notch stuff. Maybe not for this season. Skipping the cab and getting similar looking but only half decent paint on the bed would be my goal. Even just doing that, time could run short. It hadn't occurred to me you had nothing old cool to drive. Run! With clothes on.

I was just looking at pics of these and see what you mean about the bed alterations. Ouch. Its to fix the what you see approaching the truck from a front quarter angle. Lots of extra bed front, shaped nothing like the cab. Uh-oh. Hmm. I was working on the 55 bed rail tops today and wonder now if a similar solution could work for you.

And I guess the gate could just drop down along with the rails with hinges below floor level. Inneresting. Theres some things a guy just can't get around.

Saw pic of roddy looking one sitting lower with your current type of fenders and no sir... don't like those today near as much. Looking down the side. Doing a double take with M series ones to see. I like the trucks without wide fenders best and wonder if yours has cutouts or lips behind the fenders. But I'll try to simmer down. :)

What is the wheel diameter?

When it rains, it pours. Pardon the comment flood, just direct it into the barrel to consume whenever. I do try to get less confused as I go along.  :)

M series fenders, modified and un. And an idea for up top. Your bed looks narrower than the cab unlike another pic I may have imagined. Maybe the bumpout idea in sketch could work somehow and be easy. Trying to show just curving the bedsides in at bottom and adding to fenders to fill in.

^^^I like the bottom pic, but then, it's not my truck.^^^

I like the bottom one too, and it is my truck. I think the rear fender on the bottom picture looks better proportioned to the rest of the truck.

You could always add fender fares to the front to even out the look

Seemed like theres a spot where dogleg cuts could scoot top and bottom halves together. Then I took the front fender lip's top couple inches of shape and stretched that for top of rear lip shape. So the rear wheel opening would be freehand to suit. Flared lip on front and not on back looks funny but the track width stagger calls for it. Not sure how well the chopped fender would work without the stepped bumpout being added. I tried just flat spotting top of fender even with cab's body line but no.

Bottom rear of back fender is a little hazy, vague. Woops there. I was losing snap and meant to post 3 variants. Another was on the screen that had uncut fender height with it overlapping the step a little. Like the sketch. Meh.

What I think might be important is what the bumpout panel or added stepped line even with the cab does. Tucking bedside at bottom then the round rail top sticking up on top, past the upper part which is radiused more similarly to the cab there... I think may result in a better look from oblique angles. All of it is just raw idea seeds and I can't predict how much looking like its supposed to be a dually those things might take away.

The flare idea might have merit. Honestly if'n it was me I might just hunt up sone buff color primer and hose the bed. Just showing up in the truck as is with roadworthy mechanicals is a fair enough feat to accomplish and don't think you'll run short on cool as far as anyone is concerned.

In other words, people (not all, but any who can ID it) will love it. :)

Bottom for me also. Lots of work to make mismatched parts marry together and be happy. :)

I never would have made that Chevy Luv connection, but now that you mention it I totally see it.

Without a doubt the mismatched colors help the effect, but the bed and cab are way out of proportion. Almost like a bad photoshop. Get that right, though, and the truck will have real charm. The family connection to the Lark is obvious. it's going to be a cool odd rod.

I like the second one better It's a shame you don't have a picture of the other side of the truck. I'd like to see it with the fenders reversed side for side. To me they look like they're on backwards. GPster

I explored that, see below. Eyes and mind wide open! First...

Do we still like it like this? 'Splainations on images.

Last pic is the v2.0  or 3.0 (evolved) fender shape along with the stepped line on bedside again. Toting a stock M series  fender in it's given orientation. Thanks to GPster for that creative thinking nudge, I think it sent me in a good direction.

For easiest discussion reference, I suggest using the file names to identify the images. The sequence is disorderly. ;)

No. 8 looks right but at the same time, how many fenders are symmetrical as produced? Interesting concept for thought. :)

There are a lot of things I like about these pictures. The side of the box will have to be reskinned for most of them because there is a cutout in them nearly as big as the fender. But with no compound curves it will be fairly easy.

The pinstripe helps a lot. The fenders in the last 2 pictures have a look that seems to match the overall look of the truck better

I mentioned to Frank on the phone about this 3/4 ton  Studie on Craigs List out here.  $6500.00 price on it. ... Flat bed on it.  looks a bit ruff on the bed area.
