Let me tell you about this years journey to the Nats. Preparation is big.

I took all of the engine management out of this car the first week of July. The Mega Squirt system I had in it decided to run max lean and I could not find a problem or a way out of the issue. No help from anybody either.

So, I ordered a Chrysler Crate Motor computer and wiring harness form Russell at Sound German Automotive. He is the man who sold me the trans controller that works flawlessly. Three days after the harness hit my door step it was up and running and better than it ever has.

22.5 mph at 65 to 70 mph. Cruised the fairgrounds at 190 degrees with the ac on a lot of the day. Lots of pictures taken of the car and thumbs up.

What i learned here is this computer is set up to run a 5.7 Hemi and that only. No accessories or extras. In my mind I believe that modifying some stock computers can lead to problems in other areas of the computer affecting the whole system. The Chryslers are by far the hardest to set up. And some after market systems are to be avoided unless you want to play with tunes and change programming constantly.

We ran three cars to Louisville, The cab over my wagon and a 5.0 powered 40 ford tudor. No major problems with any.

I polished on the wagon for a week to get it nice enough to go to Louisville and entering Mopar Country was a after thought. My friend Dave that came along for the ride pushed that and helped me detail the wagon . The award is nice and I am very happy with the results of the car. .I met some new people and talked to some of the people I already knew and had a overall great time.

So thanks to all of you for your support of my efforts!!!

I saw a different ecu in the open hood pic. I wondered what had happened. You made the safest choice in my world. :) It's great that you have such a good story to tell about the trip. :)

Interesting how much difference in controllers there is...  A fellow I know used a FAST engine controller on a Ford 511 cid engine.. 2 different programing guys. The truck was a street truck. It would run good one day, next day or later it ran less than good.  Finally switched to a Holley Dominator controller. The engine runs great every day. The guy says he wants to drive the truck now. Before he would let the truck sit.
