I must admit I dont drive my bucket nearly as much as I did when it was my only hotrod 30 yrs ago and I drove it everywhere but since then Ive got a roadster and coupe that I can cruise around in and the bucket barely moves out of the garage nowadays.

This week Ive tried to change that and took it out over three consecutive days but I think age has caught up to me,its uncomfortable for any long periods of time and now I'm suffering a sore knee that I think is from jumping out of it.

It is a lot more fun than the other rods but its getting harder to enjoy it for any length of time.

I'm thinking once my grandson is a bit more responsible and has had his license for a couple more years it might be time to pass it down.

Is it just me or do we all outgrow our cars from when we were younger.
I maybe from down under but I know which way is up.
Oh hell there goes another head rush.

Not sure about outgrowing them but I think after a while they are not as 'fresh' of an amusement as they once were . I basically finished up my 65Merc truck a few months ago and find myself not driving it at all . I have owned it 16 years . I like your idea of handing the t bucket off to your grandson. That way you can enjoy the fact that someone close to you is enjoying it .

Wait till you get old! I've been working on the Jeepster for 28 years and last summer was the first I've been able to drive it. It doesn't impress anybody but me but it is a sense that I made something that works. I probably only drive 5,000 miles a year and it was never intended to be anything other than satisfaction to me. I can pick when I would like the feeling I get from it. If you need encouragement just think of old man "Insky......". It's the price you pay for the feeling you get. GPster

Never to old for T Bucket.  Run 30,000 miles in this in 1979 to 1981, wish I had her back.
Some people try to turn back their odometers
Not me, I want people to know "why" I look this way.
I\'ve traveled a long way and some of the
roads weren\'t paved.

I've threatened to build one numerous times. Several years ago at Pueblo, I heard a group older than me say that the life of the owner of a t was the same as a boat owner. 2 best days, 1st and last. :)

Riding around on a piece of 5/8" plywood with 2" of foam is why I sold mine. Too hard on my butt at my age.

My introduction to t buckets was in 8th grade when a classmate started building one with his dad. He owned it for over 30 years until he crashed it . beautiful car. 8)

I really enjoy mine. Nothing better than that open ride with a Hemi and a 4spd
Some days it\'s not worth chewing through the restraints.
