Sold my '40 Ford coupe as an almost done project. It went to the Cincinnati area on Saturday. Buyer called and was happy, so I'm happy. Onward and upward.

Car deals are  done. Trailers loaded, cars gone..  I am down to one olde car.  Seems like a sad day to me.     Few more items sold too.    Getting thin in the shop.  Altho if I spread the crap out , it still looks busy in there.

been sorting tools again..  Set up a tool box with stuff I "think" will be helpful while on the road with the RV.

ok, happy face time.  My tooth with the root canal from infection and related 'stuff'..  Tooth is dang near feeling just regular again.  Tenderness in the area is near gone.  :T)

The 1948 Simca drag car project remains..

I actually thought of keeping my 1962  Falcon. The guy asked that question:  Whats it take to buy it.  I told him. The Falcon is gone.  Oh well.

My car trailer is going to my brothers house for storage , the Falcon was going to be on the trailer.  Now the Simca will be on the trailer. Easy peasy.

Productive night in the garage. New bushings in the 46 steering rack. took the hood off the 64 F100 to remove the two broken bolts in the hood hinge (Sunday project). Did a tune up on the truck while i have the hood off. Everything from carb, dwell and timing. Then went back to my car and cleaned the mag inside and out and removed the old horns so i can install a working pair of horns.
And I only had one beer. Reminds me I need more beer in the shop fridge. :b-d:   :D

I did a little machine work on the idler pulley that replaced the ac compressor on the 78. I can't say that the part was made wrong. None of the pulleys aligned well on this engine. It has a replacement alternator and The power steering pump is not the original. WZJUNK and I had a little talk yesterday. He told me that one of his friends had called Holley and found out there were serious back orders on the parts he wanted. I called today and asked about a terminator efi system for the 302 engine in the shed. It's a real maybe for late June. I checked on the Tremec TKX. Late July. When I was young, I had to save up money to buy parts, now I have to see if I will live long enough to get them. :)

I am in Cell phone H ***

We bought new phones in late march.  Name of carrier does not matter, they all largely suck... This was thru Costco

it was a promo deal. buy 1 get one free via  "cash back  on a credit card".  My wifes phone works great.  After a few weeks mine acted up.  loss of signal, loss of internet. The next day it works fine, then it craps again.  Intermentant problem. Drop a call here and there.  Or people telling me the phone is breaking up, cant hear me.

Today on the 3rd trip back:  the guy says OK , we will exchange the phone..  He wipes my phone clean for security & safety, then resets it.  Then  OOPS, we cant find a same model phone locally.  OOPS : we cant upgrade to next level phone out because:  You bought this one  on a promo deal.

He tried to send me to Samsung directly for a replacement. Tells me that Samsung will send me a new phone no charge and all I have to do is return the defective phone.  I told him B S ....  Samsung is not going to just send me a new  phone after just a  phone call. With all the fraud in the cell phone world?  Samsung will want my credit card first, then I will have to fight to get credit back.

So :  I sit here with a brain dead phone. No apps, no phone contact list.  Tomorrow we talk to the "main guy" who sold us the phones to see what happens. The guy reset my phone to base level, then wonders why I am upset after he can not find a new replacement phone in Metro Phoenix.

O&S was doing what he does best: being slow. LOL. A 2 hour job turned into 4 hours again. I pulled the pedal assembly on the 51 and did the bearing mod on the clutch pedal. I had to remove more parts than I planned on to get the assembly out from under the dash. I had left the bearing holders long. After measuring the overall length of the clutch shaft, I put the holders in the lathe and cut them to the correct length. I tack welded them in place and put the new cable quadrant on. Then the pedal assembly was reinstalled and the firewall cable adjuster. The adjuster took longer than it should of. I tried to use the screws that came with the kit. I ended up tapping the holes to 10-24 and using button head fasteners. Task completed and all works as it should.

Frank, how did your MRI turn out?  Any results in yet?  I'm going to University of Iowa next month to have a tear duct repaired. My nurse-daughter asked me if I was apprehensive about the surgery, and I said that I've had so many surgeries on my head, face and neck that this should be a cake-walk.

Tony, any luck with the phone?  We use TracFone for ours and haven't had any real problems, other than one dying on me once years ago. Prepaid it costs me about ~$130 per year for more minutes/text/data that I can use. It costs my wife more because she keeps using up all her data and has to buy more. They're Androids.

The well guy got our well up and going on Monday. He was here exactly 5 years ago, and had slight problems getting the pump out because of the rust and slight curvature of the casing.  Last time, he had put in new galvanized 1" pipe, and the bottom section was already getting eaten up. He said it's the manganese in our water, and the cheaper galvanizing that's used on pipes these days. We decided to solve two problems this time. He installed a 3" pump to replace the 4", then use schedule 80 pvc pipe. The 4" pump puts out 10 gallons/minute at about 3750 rpm. The 3" puts out 10 gallons/minute at around 11,000 rpm.  Another $2400 this time; was about $2200 last time.  Ahhhh, the comforts of living in the country.
