Quote from: "Crosley"the water trap re-installed in compressed air lines.  The C4 O ring for the drum fit.  Kind of a  force fit. OK , I used a 3 pound hammer to slip the 2 parts together.  So far no air leaks.

Also:  yes, that is PVC pipe..  Schedule 40 pipe  , 1/2 inch diameter.

Well Tony I had the check valve come in, so I installed it and fired the compressor up. Worked fine, but the 2" to 3/4" bushing on the side of the tank leaked. Come to find out it was BSPT, and not NPT. So I went and bought another bushing, but all they had was 2" to 1" bushings, so I had to get a 1" to 3/4" bushing to finish the job. Reassembled and fired it up. Now the nipple was leaking. I dug up a used nipple. the hardware store was now closed, and installed it. Pumped it up again and the new valve was leaking. So I replaced that with a used valve from a cement mixer and no more leaks. At that point I noticed the drain valve had a tiny leak, and I was tired of messing with it so I moved on to something else.

When I was young, I never had leaks on my plumbing. Now, I'm like Frank. :) Did we lose our touch?
Sirstude, after the hail storm of 2011, I put on a metal roof. I think a tornado will be the only reason I might have to replace it. My town might be 30% metal roofing now.

If your pipes and nipples are made in China, that's probably where your problem is. Before retiring in 2014, they were having problems at work.

They were. The stuff I get local is US made.

I haven't seen US made steel pipe fittings in some time. The pvc parts I used for the yard last summer were all US made. I haven't checked the brass parts lately.

I drilled out some more of the dash knobs, the largest so far is 1/4".

I have to cut a hole in the dash to install the new radio. Sometime in the past someone filled that area of the dash, probably because some one enlarged the hole with an axe or similar tool.  The dash is painted, and he doesn't want me to mess with it, and the new radio has a faceplate the covers that area. So I made a pattern out of 1/8" steel, covered the back with tape, and will bolt it to the dash with bolts through the knob holes. Then cut out for the faceplate through it. That way I shouldn't make any scars in the dash paint.

Help needed, I was going to use my bead roller with some step dies I picked up at an auction and they are a different size. Anyone able to make me two sleeves to go inside my dies?
The shafts on my bead roller are .785 dia and the inside of the dies I want to use are .860.
The shaft has keyways so I will remove the key, while the dies are smooth with a setscrew.
Will pay in beer, whiskey, cash or chocolate (Vickie requires Chocolate).  :D

Dave , a piece of 7/8" .058 wall tubing would be a good start for this. I don't know that I have any left. I'll look and see if I can help you.
