I am on day 2 of quarantine . I quick tested positive . I have had 3 vaccinations to date . I really do not feel ill and tested as my employer requested all staff to do so (school). Glad I did as I do not want to give this to anyone who might not be able to do as well as I . The newest variant is really easy to pass on and does not seem to be as deadly. My hope is that this is a sign that the virus is getting weaker . I saw on the news that they figure everyone will eventually get this and that maybe then it will have run its course.

Walmart visit this morning...  I used the supplied sani wipes on the cart.  I picked up & installed the supplied universal face covering. Seems like a hybrid of cloth and paper product?  Any way.. on the way out, the mask ear loop tangled up in my hearing aid.

I am back to work monday .  :)

I'm in the office Monday. We rotate through at the rate of 1 week out of 4. That means Christmas week would have been the last rotation, but they let us work from home that week.

Texts from my brother. He is still under the weather and now wonders if he has the covid. He was calling his doctors office for advice. Just getting the voice mail at first. I was telling him to check around for a phree covid test, but the whole system is overloaded. The doctors options offered were expensive.

He said his taste and smell was fine. Now he has a headache for 2 days.  I had a headache for 1.5 days last week.

My brothers texts got angry and political , so I stopped sending texts.

Hey Tony,  around here the urgent cares are walk in but I waited 2 hr. Come to find out they want you to book online now and have time slots available. They do the rapid test. Might have him try that.

Yes.. I was trying to explain that to my brother. That he would need to schedule appointment. Needed to find a place for no cost to him  testing.

He is not very online friendly with most internet items. That was one of his texts, about everything is online BS and "insert negative comments on current USA president"  Rants started. He had gone out of control sorta.

We are the only province in Canada that went back to regular classes after the christmas break . We have the lowest vaccine rate in the country . 2 schools in my town went online only yesterday without govt approval . Too many kids contracting the sickness . We were doing so well for so long . Kids are better than adults with the masking and hand washing but I think we are now getting complacent and it is getting us for it.

The government opened the site to get the free 4 pack of self test covid. It was to open tomorrow but now it is opened early. I just ordered mine and got a conformation number and say they will be delivery in January. Here's the site   COVIDtests.gov

Our new Governor signed an executive order that no school district have a mask mandate. A bunch of districts have announced they've no attention to comply and a class action suit was filed today by a group of parents seeking to overturn the order. It is state law here that districts follow the advice of CDC on these matters so he's trying to overturn law with an executive law. Should be a real cluster.

Now, why would someone in charge do something like that? What's the reasoning?

Got rid of a car today. The new owner picked up the 48 Chevy sedan delivery. Nice weather to do it. So far we have had 0.4" of snow so far in January, and none predicted in the next ten days

Small update on my brother.. His daughter got involved and "told" him what he would be doing. She is in CT and her job is managing a group in insurance medical claims processing. She knows most of the ins and outs of the testing availability , costs, who is paying, etc.

She setup an appointment for a  test  at no cost to her dad.  My brother tested positive for the chinese virus. He has been off work. He text'd me saturday to tell me about his virus stuff I already knew from his daughter. My niece and I keep quiet on how much we chat about her dad & mom to avoid butt hurt feelings with my brother.

Weird winter. We just had 5" in Tidewater Virginia, which is rare. We're normally considered south of the salt line, though barely. When they do use salt they use a whole bunch of it at once.
