I mentioned this to my wife.  I think there is banana bread in our future.  She cooks and bakes a lot but this last month she has really been cooking and baking.

Whatever you haven't eaten in about 5 days will be ready to turn into banana bread a day or two later. Sharon has some ready to bake soon.
A good friend will come and bail you out of jail...but, a true friend will be sitting next to you saying. "Wow...that was fun!"

Visited the local Home Depot tuesday. I had read they were counting customers in & out in an effort to keep enough room for proper social distancing.

What I had not read was Home Depot was closing entrances to the store. Only one entrance in. You can check out and leave thru the garden area, Not allowed to enter thru the garden gates.

the far end of the store near lumber area, the doors are closed, blocked.  I did not notice this till i had paid. You have to walk back to the middle of the store front to exit. the doors are only opened for forklift to travel in & out.

All cashiers have 3/4 of enclosure around them. you hand payment to them under the plex windows.

Lowes allows you to enter & leave any of their doors and garden area. They have the enclosures up around the cashier areas. Signs are up everywhere on 6 foot social distance  spacing.  Signs on the floors near cashiers... I will be  shopping at Lowes only  for the time being.

My son in law is an assistant manager of the local Home Depot.  His store is set up just as you described.  I think it is a corporate policy.

I had to get an airless paint sprayer and stain last week from Home Depot.  I had them bring the items to me.  They have designated areas for pickup.  Oreilly's brings stuff out to me and also the local Bumper to Bumper parts store.  I have not entered a store for the last 6 weeks.  I know the total when I pull in the drive, so I have a check in my hand to give to them.  They put the items in the back seat or trunk.  I am getting spoiled.

Mom is a banana bread expert if you ask me and my kin. Last batch, she tried a bit of vanilla in it and that was extra mmm-mmm. Enough to be worth mention.

This next week my state will start to loosen the restrictions on the stay at home.  My wife and I have adhered to the state guidelines and we have been very careful with anything we came in contact with from outside our home.  Now we have to figure out how to ease back into society.  The most difficult part will be making the decisions about our grandchildren.  There will be no 6 foot social distanceing with them.  Its all or nothing.  That means that you also come in contact with everyone they have had contact.

Went to local Walmart about 9am..  They have the cones, fence guides out as usual at the entrance. NOT one single person waiting to get inside the store.

I was going to walk thru the cones as I have done in the past.  Walmart employee stops me. She tells me  I have to walk 60 feet down to the entrance of the guide fences.  I looked at her:  You are kidding me? There is no body waiting to get in. She insisted.

I walked back to the car and left.  If and when? this BS stops , I will return to the store

I've got a history of lung problems and had a heart attack so Sue & I have been very careful so far. We're going to wait to see if there's an infection surge as a result of people mingling again before we jump in.

I went to Walmart this morning at 6 am, the old people's special hour. Only about ten people waiting to go in, I was number two. I see the news people are reporting that there "may" be a coming meat shortage, especially chicken and pork. I'm thinking here we go again, panic time, sure enough, there's a couple hoarding the chicken today, just loading up their cart. I guess we will have to start putting limits on certain purchases....probably should have from the start, but who knew there was that many panicky and selfish people out there. 🙄 My wife reports from Raleigh N.C. that they still can't find TP, she has been there about seven weeks and wants to come home in couple weeks....we have TP here! 😃😄😃

My wife made a shopping trip this morning for geezer groceries. She went to 2 different stores and found almost no hamburger. The store that did have some limited each purchaser to one pack. We have plenty of paper products. We got another roll of tenderloin. We age it and cut it up and freeze in vacuum bags. I guess I'll eat more steak than hamburger. :)

Is it odd that living where you do, you would have trouble finding beef at the grocery store?

That was 5 miles from what I believe is the largest packing plant in the US. It's 60 miles to Liberal and 80 miles to Dodge City. I believe those 3 plants provide 20% of the country's beef. There are plants in other parts of the state but not as large. I wondered if people are hording hamburger just like tp. :)

no problem here as far as beef but try and find a can of tomato soup....
The last thing I want to do is hurt you. But it\'s still on my list

same here with the tomato soup! Some provinces are talking about getting kids back to school in a few weeks . Those are the provinces with the biggest problem with covid as well . I do not see the logic in that . My province has some of the best numbers as far as keeping it under control and schools are about the 5th phase of our getting back to normal . Believe me , as a teacher NOTHING would make my day easier than getting back in the shop but I dont see the logic of putting 800 plus kids in a building all day and not expecting an issue if even one comes carrying the virus. My wife and I work in schools and each day share space with over 3000 kids a day combined .
