I dug around in places where numbers might be, came up emptyhanded.  :?

Of course all they had was 2x4 tubing.

They can be channels instead. 14 ga with inch wide flange top and bottom will be in the original style but more rigid. Looking at losing the front mount and braces then having dual side by side biscuits back under the A pillars. Toe boards and firewall are history. :)

Random thought from a feeble mind: the cab was designed to be part of the stiffener on the original chassis. As was mentioned earlier, the new chassis is not dependent on that aspect at all. The new firewall will provide the cab with torsional strength so the division of mounting will be reduced. My thought about the front cab mounts was to provide support for the front sheetmetal which is attached solely at the cab and the core support. So if the firewall attaching area is doubled up where the inner and outer fenders attach, there should be no need for the original front cab mount. ???? :)

That sounds logical. Knowing no more than I do at this point about how the front end goes, here is what I anticipate:

Aprons connected to rockers.

Added cowl support at hood hinge location and tighter gap below hood than stock.

Fabbed brackets holding inner fender to frame and cab, on the wheel side.

Inner and outer fender merged, seam at lower front of fenders welded.

Since there is very little tunnel required on pan and almost none on firewall, the wall is much straighter than the original with access panel. Providing better resistance to twist. The bumpout panel at top of firewall ends up being cosmetic. Currently, flanged seams are planned on that and with one at top and bottom of the toe board also, layering adds strength. Along the sides, this will provide a stiff vertical corner ahead of the hinges at the upper firewall. As I see it, the weight at rear of fenders where bolted to cowl will be shared by the apron now, which will as said above, be rigidly attached to the sturdy new rocker nearby.

I do hope I'm not missing anything but it all seems to think through on my end too. :)

I scrolled through my pics and this is as good as a shot of the u and the inner fenders that I think I have.

Thanks. There was a slot at rear of inner fenders where best I could reckon it passes over that forward flange around the firewall. Our hero did send me three exploded views of front end and board parts so that will help me. I see the U is pretty dead simple.

Later style gate letters (incorrect font shown), frenched oval tails and tips in the fender, narrowed and tucked bumper with tag. Howzit grab you guys? Customer says looks nice. Image conveys ideas but it is a mighty rough (and quick) rendering.

That would be good. Do something with the bed rails. :)

Had one idea on that but it won't really show from that angle. Imagine trimming off the last 4" of rail (rolled part only) out back and replacing it with 90° bent same size tubing having like a 3" radius and flowing not terribly gently into but meeting the gate rail at the end. Flat caps in gaps on gate and side rail ends.

Can u picture that? He said he wants to keep the rails but I didn't ask for specifics although I wondered.

Playing with tucking front bumper at the moment, with bedtime right around the corner. :)  Gotta look alive!

No wait, that will show from that angle, duh.

Anybody have extra tuits? What with the run on essentials and all? Need some round ones.

I can't not show this, too proud of it. Thats the most least I ever messed up with the english wheel. :)

That looks pretty good.
Welcome to hell. Here's your accordion.

Thank you sir. Took all day. I saw Mike making A hood sides, just with barely enough hole in them to clear the engine, so I figured wheel practice might be good to get now. He stayed home after lunch, helped someone build a porch last week and they have flu symptoms but test said its not the flu.

Truck floor should look like brand new money with the spit tubing rockers in there.
