O&S was at it as hard as he could without falling off the ladder. :) The cab is in primer. The glassman stopped by and removed the windshield and rear glass. He's storing them for me until it's time to install. I sanded and shot the 2nd application of primer on the fenders. After priming the cab, I realized that I will have to get a different plan to paint the cab. For the last 20 years, every cab I've painted has been off the frame. My arm seems to have shrunk about 6". :) I'll get it figured out but it will probably add some more time to the project. There's not enough room for a sky hook connected to me to do this, either. LOL

Another exciting day at the O&S exercise shop. There's a little over 6 hours in block sanding, metal work and a little bondo. The long board really shows how poor of a job you did. :) It's got the 2nd app. of primer now. I just ordered another gallon of primer. I'm not good enough to get panels straight with less than 3 applications. :)

O&S is playing Groundhog day. Blocking and priming. 2nd app. for the hood and tailgate. I'm on the downhill side of this, now.

Another day of exercise at the O&S gym. The roof got blocked. I found a low spot and chased it for way too long. :) Sanding around the window areas and the part of the dash to be painted. I disassembled the doors and removed them. There's rain in the forecast for tomorrow so I'm set to work on the inside of the cab. I think project creep is over. :)

There's sure a lot of flat on that truck...or a lot of real estate to make flat.

O&S had a day of no fun. While I was waiting for the ground to dry up from the shower, I cleaned up some small parts and painted them. I have removed everything from the cab that would impede painting. The rest of the day was spent sanding door jambs and the inside of the cab. There's some detail work left but most of that is ready for primer and paint.

You would be correct, Tony. The belts came from the rusty 76.
O&S worked all day on doors and the back of the cab. When I finished blocking the cab this morning, I found 3 low spots. They aren't visible but they are there. :) The doors had numerous low spots in them that required more bondo. The cab and doors are in the 2nd app. of primer. I can tell that the doors will need one more. There's a wave in one that is fighting me. :) For the 1st day of summer, it was almost perfect. It only got up to 86. It was very pleasant sanding in the sun.

Ladies and Gentlemen, we have some color. :) I blocked the fenders and the hood this morning. It took around 3 hours to spray sealer, 3 coats of color and 2 coats of clear. I have to decide if I'm going to flow coat it. It has plenty of orange peel. :) I probably won't make that decision until I have the parts outside to see how they look. It wasn't my plan to have a high maintenance paint job when completed.

Naw.. you may not own the truck long enough to worry about some orange peel paint.  );b(

O&S had to make a decision today. Getting rid of orange peel required sanding whether you flow coat or buff. I knocked it down with 600 and it looked like it would clean up. I sanded with 1000 and 1500. The pics are of the 1st step in buffing. I'm going to let them set for a week before doing anymore buffing.

O&S spent the morning blocking the top and back of the cab. Then a couple of hours on detail work. I hate cowl vents. I guess I could make a tool to sand in between the louvers so it took minutes instead of an hour to do that. :) It's masked and the sealer is shot. Tomorrow it gets turned white.

O&S was successful. Way less mistakes than usual. :) 3 coats of color and clear. I don't see any mistakes or chunks of dirt or insects. How did that happen? LOL

O&S started installing some parts. Less mess to stumble over. :)
