looks good, John. Wind is blowing around 30 mph here. I can't contain the residue when it's like that.

The early bird may get the worm. The early bird may be the wormiest. :) This old guy was up and at it before sunrise. I have the tailgate blasted and the mess cleaned up before the wind got up very high. I have a computer problem so there will be no pics until repaired. I discovered some rust pinholes in the tailgate and welded them up. Time for bondo. :)

For a while, there will be nothing but bondo. I won't update until there is substantial progress or something interesting. :)

O&S had a good day. :) I finished up the bondo on the fenders and tailgate. I shot epoxy and 3 coats of high build primer. I media blasted the outside of the bed. I left a lot of the original primer to use as a guide coat for finding small dents. The mess is all cleaned up and I'm done for the day. :)

O&S tried to take advantage of the last calm day in the forecast for a while. I blasted the inside of the bed. It was very unusual for the media to be laying next to the part instead of 20' away. :) I cleaned up and masked the bed. I epoxy primed it. I have not sprayed bed liner before. I read the instructions and mixed up a can. I started spraying and it was going well. Before the 1st gun full was empty, it started slowing up in out put. I stopped and cleaned the gun. The mixture has started to catalyze. To make a long story short, the temp seemed to aggravate the process. I ended up rolling the floor so it doesn't match in texture. It is all black. :)  In retrospect, I would have been more successful to have rolled it all. :)

The bed and I are still in bondo prison. 1st thing this morning, I got after the messed up area in the bed and removed it with a 40 grit grinder disk. I will order more Raptor liner and roll it on to match the rest of the floor. The rest of the day was spent with bondo.

O&S enjoyed the 32 + mph wind today. :) The bed was released from bondo solitary confinement and moved to general primer prison. I see some small spots that need attention. It's looking a lot less like a farm truck. :)

O&S has been trying to figure out the best way to panel paint this with the least amount of masking while still having no bare metal so the parts can be outside when necessary. This morning I primed the areas of the bed floor to be recoated. Then I shot color on the front panel and the rear jamb are. It went back outside and the truck is inside now. I got a good start on bondo on it today.

I think it is coming along real nice. 8)  If that bed was a critter, you'd have needed a whip and chair to tame it with.  :)

Fresh bed liner arrived today. I rolled on the material and now the floor looks way better. I don't know if the original attempt was doomed because of dated material or high temps. It was only 80 here today. Meanwhile, back in bondo prison. :)

O&S has T.B. :) The cab is out of bondo prison. I have about 90% of the paint removed. I'm leaving the original paint on the back of the cab.

Looking good.

Many years ago, I traded a 58 Jeep FC150 to a friend of mine for a 72 (IIRC) Ford 1/2T PU. He had done all the body work to it (he was a bodyman for the local Ford dealer) and it was primered. Mine had a white top. It was the same color as yours, and he told me what ever color I painted it, don't paint it the original. He said that paint would dull right away.

Well, everything I was shooting at that time was acrylic enamel single stage. Another friend of mine ran a body shop, and he had just painted a Chevy PU a bright yellow. Wow...I liked that yellow and painted it yellow. It really looked good. It was still shiny when I traded it later. Of course, the blue probably would've been, too.

I like painting better than mechanical.

The only metalflake that was on this truck ended up in my finger while sanding. No more. :)
O&S had one of those days. After I started the truck to move it and clean out the shop so I could work, it started running rough. Like plug wires swapped instead of a light miss or a dead cylinder. I moved all the stuff and removed the hood and put it on the H.F. trailer. It got sealed and 3 coats of high build primer. IT really bothers me when things don't operate properly. I started diagnosing the trucks problem. I went through many items including a compression test. After not finding anything and being worried about loosing a day, I welded up some holes in the doors and all the easy rider rifle rack holes inside the cab. I started the truck and wiggled wires and looked for sparks. Nothing. I shut it off and dug the original computer out of the attic. I swapped it out and that was the end of the problem. I'm not confident that it was the only problem. I'm using a 32 year old harness that was outside for some time. This computer has a different fast idle than the other one that I don't like as much. At least it's running all right. :) After that I went back to sanding on the cab.
