UGLY OLDS

Quote from: "phat46"Finished another painting today. Acrylic on hard board 16" X 24". The Hon. James L. Oberstar, my former neighbor was her Captain for years. This scene is of her coming in off Lake Huron into the St. Clair River, less than a half mile from my house, the bridges connect the U.S. and Canada and are known as the Blue Water bridges.

Really Neat painting......Your work keeps getting better & better...... );b(

My father in law had a place on the St Mary's river near Neebish island  We would set and watch those boats come through. They move a lot of water.
Welcome to hell. Here's your accordion.

I am grinding the chambers on the heads for my T motor . Valves are shrouded as these were ordered without the chambers being finished . PO was running them this way and decided to sell them as he went to a different head . I got a SMOKING deal on these as I could not have bought the hardware for these heads for the price . Grinding heads puts me in some sort of zen thing  8)

Back in the 60's when the Lakes were at an historic low, the ships going up the St. Clair River would pull all the water away from shores where it was shallow, then as the boat passed the water would come back in about a foot higher and finally settle back down. Now the Lakes are so hgh, record highs, that along the flats near Algonac they are speed restricted so homes don't get swamped as they pass.

32 Chevy

Yesterday our car club, the Gig Harbor Cruisers did a (socially sanctioned and distanced) group tour of 36 classic cars to bring some smiles to residents and staff of 6 retirement homes and St Anthony's hospital. Somehow King 5 news heard about it and had their news helicopter stationed overhead, with broadcast on the evenimg news. if you look carefully, circled is our 1932 Chevy Piloted by Dave with navigation assistance

I have a couple of cousins that live in Gig.  Didn't know any of this group was out there.

I spent hours cleaning up some left overs from the last 2 projects. I've started taking a bucket and tossing every bolt into the bucket when I disassemble a vehicle. They are sorted into sae and metric. Bolts have become enough of an expense that I don't pitch them if they look good.
I've driven the 78 enough to know that it makes 8 mpg around town. 6 cylinder economy. Where is it hiding. :)

Slowly , I am still adjusting to retirement. the Past 2 weeks it has been hectic with my wifes surgery and recovery.. That has kept my mind off much retirement thinking. I cant go any where if she needs help.  Nearly no place is open anyway.

Time for my quarterly complaints on shipping, ebay , etc..  Sorry

Ebay seller listed his location as New York USA.  Turns out he is in Canada. Just across the border at Niagara Falls.  Still have to deal with the border crossing.  So shipping is delayed.  Perhaps a better word shipping has been slooowed way down because of the border.

I have noticed the recent 3 weeks my USPS packages are taking 1 to 3 days longer to arrive.  All part of the current situation of the virus shut down I think.

Not me, I want people to know "why" I look this way.
I\'ve traveled a long way and some of the

I,m still stuck in this dumb nursing home with no sign of release......   I have been eating nothing but puréed meals  for 5 weeks 'cause they are afraid that I will choke to death on anything else....
All my food is puréed & I am only allowed  "Thick Water"......Just think water as thick as 90wt. or maple syrup...
Has anybody ever tried a puréed grilled cheese sammich??   Don't do it.....Its worse than it sounds.....

With the therapy I am getting,my arms & legs are getting stronger by the day... I can walk about 200 feet now....Hopefully I can Get out sooner than later & have our family Doctor arrange further treatment.....

I am still out here lurking & enjoying what you guys are posting......
