Found a 10' stick of 2 1/2" exhaust tubing so i should be able to finish the exhaust on the 65 merc truck tomorrow. there is a leak at the pass side collector that needs fixing first . I will H pipe it later when I can get it on a hoist.

Exhaust is done with some leaks that i will deal with when i get it on a hoist . I took the 65 merc for a drive today . First drive in a long time . It needs a tune up as it idles fast and i have not tuned it at all yet . The shifter gives very little feel for what gear you are in . I am getting used to non power 4wheel drums again.I also need to lower the seat ,it sits 1 1/2" higher than the original . Definitely a work in progress but at least it drives now .

I have been helping Fatcat move into his new house, and I am a bit jealous. His shop is as big as mine, and has two in ground hoists in it.

A little yard work today... very little.

Sorting out hand tools and power tools again.  Putting some of the "multiples"  on eBay.  This down sizing thing is a pain in the

KB I have a 10 year old paint job on this truck . Rustoleum 2 tone white and blue , done with a roller and a brush . I hope to have a mini chopper project ready for paint by the end of the school year . It will be a flake job! 8) I am also planning to do flake somewhere on the dash in the t coupe . Was also planning to use that pearl pick guard or drum wrap on the dash as well in a colour that would match the wheels. A buddy of mine wants me to paint the doors of this truck with the cobra logo as though it was a truck from the ford vs ferrari theme.

I bought a minibike to play with at a sale the other day. I went to HF and bought a Predator 6.5hp motor yesterday at their parking lot sale. I guess I needed a small project to work on for a while.

I'd load a pic, but it keeps telling me it's too big. Make it any smaller and you won't see it.

A few years ago a friend was planning on building a strong engne for his '78 Corvette. He's not really a car guy so he asked me what parts to get. I got to pick all the good stuff that I would use to make a strong engine, on his dime! 😃 Well, he has decided to sell the Corvette, it's a beautiful car, and never built the engne. He offered me the parts at a good price so now they are mine. My plans are to build my dream engine, a 383 stroker. I have an extra block, but it's a two bolt main block. I was asking around to see if anyone had a four bolt block. Turns out my nephew, who races a mud truck with a blown 383 that makes 788 h.p. on a dyno, has a whole four bolt engine that he will GIVE me! This is gonna be fun. Any advise on building
a stroker would be welcome.

Take your time and check rod to cam clearance. A home built 383 with GM 5.7" rods will have about 3 rods touch the cam if not clearanced properly. Have fun. Where is this motor going to go ?

We have been told our school system will be closing on Friday . No date set to re open. No word on what I am supposed to do from then until June .

I think I'm going to have the local machine shop do the short block for me, a very reputable shop that has done many  of these. This will replace the basically stock over cammed 350 in my '46 Chevy. I will replace the Turbo 350 trans with, I think, a 4l80E , then there's the rear end....😃

Our schools were closed starting today, for at least three weeks. Today the governor said all sit down restaurants were to close except for take out only. My wife went to N. Carolina yesterday to watch our grandkids for at least two weeks while their schools are closed. My sister in law came over from Canada today for her knitting group, when she went back across the border to g home they told her she must agree to a two week self quarantine to be allowed back in!

I trimmed the hood scoop today to make it fit the Ranger.  It will appear in the photo that I cut off a lot more than I needed, but when the hood is up, it barely clears the windshield and the wipers.

We will be daycare on Monday and Friday for our two youngest grands. I'm hanging out in the shop as usual. Our normal routine is pretty much minimum close contact so we have adjusted without any difficulty. Two sons are in the food business so we have delivery covered. One is a produce department manager and the other is a beer salesman.

I have sufficient whiskey and coke fora  fairly long hunker.
A good friend will come and bail you out of jail...but, a true friend will be sitting next to you saying. "Wow...that was fun!"

Quik note:  I retired last week. A couple months earlier than planned. Details not important.

Spend my first week retired trying to source toilet paper.  Yippie.

There are no plans at the moment. My wife is 1+ yrs away from  retirement
