News in my related family is wacky and unexpected.  DNA testing and genealogy searches.

About a month ago, my wife's oldest sister (82) received a phone call from her great grand daughter.  A 33 yr olde gal had contacted  her about the GG daughter's  deceased uncle John being her bio father.  John died in 2000 from cancer at age 43.

This gal had found a DNA match to the GG daughter's grandmother Cheryl (deceased in 2017)  and the gal was looking for living relatives.

1 or 2 days later:  A 39 yr olde guy contacts my wifes same sister (82 yr olde) ..  about John being his bio father from an adoption placement when he was born 39 yrs ago.

My wife's sister being a bit leary of this 2nd contact , called her  son Bob... She asks Bob if he ever heard of an adoption child placement from his brother John.. "Yes" was his answer.  No body had ever told mom about this.  LOL

Mom (82 yr olde) asks her son Bob "Is there anything else you or your brothers want to tell me now?" ....  Bob tells his mom: "I have no surprises, but you should call Gary" ... so yes , there is another story. Not sure where that will go. Nothing conclusive there yet. Gary was told he had a son from a gal 20 yrs ago.. Nothing ever proved by the gal's claims.

There is a large amount of information that has come out now.  Things have been verified.  The 82 yr old grandma now has 2 more grand kids and 2 more great grand kids.

Played some more with my new toy, a JD X738. Finished up making a bracket for the back to hold a hitch ball/pintle hook setup that I had on my smaller tractor. Mounted the snow plow and garden plow to the older Cub Cadet for photo ops for CL and FB. Have two small tractors to get rid of, and a third is already sold, awaiting the buyer from IA.

I want a tractor like John's. That would be wonderful moving vehicles up my sloping driveway. :)

Nearly finished with this painting, after I took the picture I realized I needed a few more details, like plug wires, but you get the idea anyway. This is a local car that I took a picture of at a cruise night this summer.

Very nice job. The proportions are spot on.

I was up by Dexter yesterday chasing parts, so I stopped by Don's to check out the Divco, and tell lies, most of which were the truth. This will be another feature worthy build.

I spent the day replacing the heater core on my dakota. The dealer wanted $800 to do this. I have lots of cuts and bruises but the total expenditure is a $35 heater core and freon and some new orings for the lines I disconnected. My time usually isn't worth much. I got paid a little more today. :)

You make me blush my friend.

I set the 327 and powerglide back into my 1948 Simca this week...  Build out the tunnel, floor  and firewall for it soon.  I hope.  Maybe.

I also moved the 1959 Triumph out from its storage home to a spot near the driveway to load it on my trailer.  Time for a new Home for it.

I made the 1st real road trip since last fall. I went across Kansas and picked up a Mark 8 irs. Alum center section, a-arms and disc brakes. The only item missing is it's not a posi. It looks to be low mileage. The cv joint boots are all good and the brakes have either been redone or it's a low mileage unit. It was a beautiful summer day with fall in the air.

I am watching Rocky Mountain Race Week 2.0 on YouTube.  Today is day one from Tulsa just an hour and a half from here.  From what I have seen so far, the Ranger truck I built for this event, and Hot Rod Drag Week, would be very competitive.  I hope I get to participate in these events someday.  This virus is a real bummer.

i hauled all my fish indoors to the big tank. It is starting to get cold in the mornings and they needed to come in from the pond. Also took in 10 fish from a co worker's pond as he has nowhere to put them indoors at his home.

I installed a new line and accumulator on the dakota. I have ac again. I pulled apart some of the mark 8 irs. The rotors spent the day in the rust vat. They look good. The hubs are pressed out of the assembly and ready for the bolt pattern to be changed. I found very little on the rear that didn't look good. This one wasn't rusty. It came apart easily. :)

I loaded 38 tires and wheels on my trailer.  Went to my neighbors shop,  who has a tire machine.  Separated the tires from the wheels and reloaded the whole mess.  Tomorrow I will haul the tires to the Indian recycling center.  They are doing a free tire drop off.  This load of tire represents many years of me dumping tires and wheels behind the shop thinking I will use them for something someday.  Today was payback for me being a hoarder.  I am now hot, tired, and dirty.

WZJUNK has a new exercise program. LOL.
O&S turned a simple job into something more lengthy. :) I needed a 39/64's drill bit to make this easy. Not to be found in my town. My friend at the machine shop and I have lots of unusual tooling. Not this time. I had drilled the hubs to 9/16's. I used the boring bar to remove the rest. The studs are pressed in and the hubs are reinstalled. I'm waiting on caliper kits and short of changing oil, the rear is ready for whatever I find to put it in. :)

I burned a brush pile today. It's not legal unless you are a farmer here, but I live next to a farm, close enough.
