When Hooley wrecked the Henry J gasser last month "The Okie Twister", the engine survived but the the blower belt drive guard was bent and ruined.  Today Hooley stopped by the shop and gave me this ball point pen that he hand made from one of the left over spacers from that belt drive.  A great gift, a memory of a fun car, and a good friend.  It is a keeper.

That rates a place on the "more unusual" ink pens list. :)

Lowered the seat in my 65 merc as it was 1 3/4" higher than it should have been. Installed larger idle air bleeds in the carb and got a lot better idle mixture adjustment . 18" of vacuum with the cam 4 degrees advanced . Reinstalled the steering wheel to on centre. I took it out for a drive and it runs pretty good! Sure feels comfortable with the seat at a proper height . I had cobbled up a seat mount originally to get the seat from my 84 f150 into the merc , but today I broke out the welder and made it right. I took my wife to the dairy queen and did a nice burnout on the way home

Visit to local home improvement store.  its been a while.  15+ items from charcoal, drip irrigation parts  to toilet repair - install parts..     Got off easy ; 130 dollars out the door............. hope I do not mix the parts up.

Helping my brother again with a few items for his house....

multiple records broken here for high temperatures ... Daily records broken. Long term heat records broken..  record high "low" temp records broken.

Power utility companies asking us to raise our thermostat up in our houses.. Of course we are asking why the electric company asks for more raises in rates to prepare for future demand of power .. then we hear about record profits for the utility company.  Weird.

Recovering from a quick trip to Springfield, Mo. for the swap meet. was cancelled & then resumed. Was about 1/4 its normal size, didn't buy anything, 8 hours drive each way. Whew!!

I was there in the car corral on Saturday.  We could have had a meet and greet.  It was my first venture out in public.  I stayed away from people most of the day.  The small crowd at the swap meet made that easier.

I decided to build a truck bed trailer out of one of the junk Ford Ranger trucks.  I took it apart today.  Note the clever way I carefully removed the cab from the frame.

Now if I can just remember the proportion of the rear axle to hitch so that it will tow correctly.

Ohio Blue Tip

Hi all, it's my birthday today and last Monday I got a new hip.
I'm doing pretty well, although they broke the robot fixing me.
I asked if when I heeled up, I could run again?   They said yes, which is very good because I never could run!
Hope to see most of you at the car shows soon.
Some people try to turn back their odometers
Not me, I want people to know "why" I look this way.
I\'ve traveled a long way and some of the
roads weren\'t paved.

I made an arm for the bucket of my little Kubota tractor from scrap metal.  It slips in place onto the bucket without bolts or fasteners.  It will help me pick up lighter things. The length of the arm is shorter than it appears in the photo.   I know it will have limitations but there is a lot that I can do with it to save my back.  The little tractor is really handy.  Like so many of the tools we buy, I can not imagine getting by without the tractor, now that I have it.

You never have time to do it right the first time but you always have time to do it again.
