I spent sat at my daughter's acreage helping put up electric fence for the horses . I also mowed acres of lawn. She brought her horses home from boarding today , this has been a dream of hers since she was a child to have horses of her own at a place of her own . Big day for her , we got her first horse 10 years ago last may . She has 3 horses now.

I was working in the shop with the doors open, and my wife yells at me to come quickly to the house. A three inch section of cpvc 1/2" pipe had blown out near an outside faucet connection. I shut off the water in the small room where the leak was and looked at the broken pipe. That section was original to the house, as far as I know (built in '79). Why it went is beyond me. Luckily we were home and it's in a small room where we store a lot of cardboard boxes for shipping on ebay. Not much else worth anything was damaged.

I cut the pipe and glued on a male fitting, then installed a Stainless Steel braided hose that I had extra in my plumbing drawer. It must've had some kind of stress on it, but waiting 41 years to blow? Also, that room is one of only two floor drains in the basement, so we were lucky there also.

I'm back on the yard for a while. I rented a trencher and dug as much as I could reach. There's hand work in half of the corners. When I'm digging, I'm aware that I'm not young anymore. LOL.

Lawn sprinklers?

I know what you mean about not being young anymore. I trenched my back yard years ago, but now I need to do more behind the house. I called a young guy starting up a landscape company to come with a small backhoe to dig out next to my trench and put in more rock. He supposed to come this Thursday, and if he doesn't, I'll have to find someone else. This would be the third time he's rescheduled.

We also have a younger guy coming to cut down a 50' pine tree. He does this on the side from his normal job working for the power company. He keeps getting rained out, not his fault. He was supposed to come tonight, but it's raining. He'll come next Tuesday if the weather is okay.

I see your problem.  You have a rock shortage.  Come to my place and I will supply you with a couple of dump truck loads.  When I spray Roundup to kill weeds and grass around something,  all that is left is rock.  I do not know how any grass grows in my yard.

Thanks, John but no thanks. The ground is hard enough for me to dig that I don't believe I need to "rocks on". :)

straightened my front bumper on the 65 merc 1/2 ton with a c clamp then a floor jack then a bodywork hydraulic ram then a precision ball peen  . Looks better but far from perfect . It will look awesome from 30MPH  8) . Started rattle canning the inside in a sand colour of rustoleum to match the seat from the donor truck. Found out that my signal switch is dead on the left side so need to buy one. This truck will hopefully be my daily driver beater truck when finished . I have owned it for 15 years next month

Well...the engine machine shop guy called yesterday...my second four bolt block is junk too, cracked right by the mounting boss...😕  So it looks like I'm going to buy one of his blocks, already machined, just needs to be honed, I am taking the crank and a rod/piston out to him so he can clearance the block for the stroker crank. I keep telling myself, it's only money! 😀

Whoever thought good SBC blocks and cranks and such would get scarce...but the last ones put in cars was 23/24 years ago.

Yesterday I hauled this free Ranger home.  Well it was nearly free.  I had to haul it home and then switch out the tires and wheels to a friends truck.  He bought it for the wheels and tires.  It runs and drives but it needs a water pump and a radiator. It came with a title, so I could build another hot rod out of it, and I may.

While shucking it down looking for treasures, I found a hockey mask.  I added a ppe mask to it and propped it up for a photo op. I know, I have a weird sense of humor.

Yeah, kinda makes me wish I had picked up some of the blocks that were common as fleas a few years ago, but the market for them is drying up too, thanks to the LS engine. The machinist is giving me $120 credit for my two bolt block! I saw a 6 liter LS with the trans and harness and ECU online for asking price od $2100... I have WAY more than that in my parts, without a block so far.....but, it won't be an LS...😉

I had a guy take down a 50' pine tree in my yard on Friday. We're cutting it up today, because it wasn't hot enough yesterday.
