Quote from: "WZ JUNK"I installed the brake pedal arm this morning and I tried both positions.  The 4.2 to 1 and the 6.2 to 1.  The original pedal ratio was 4.88 to 1.  The results are consistent.  Poor brakes in all three positions.  I do not notice any difference between the three ratios.

My old college automotive research teacher alway said that it was just as important to find that something did not work, as it was to find something that did work.  I am ready for something that does work, and solve this brake problem.

A few weeks back you mentioned getting a pressure test kit.  ...Did you ever take pressure measurements of the brake circuits?

Yes, I did take pressure readings on the master cylinder and one rear wheel.  They were not as high as I had hoped but according to the engineer I am working with, they should be high enough.

Thursday a friend was trimming trees in my neighbors yard.  I stopped to say hello.  He asked if I wanted the wood for firewood.  I did not look around to see what he was doing, I just blindly said yes.  Free firewood, what's to think about.  He was cutting to large oaks that were about 4 foot across at the stump.  He brought me 5 large dump truck loads of wood.  I have been trying to clean up the mess and move it back out of the way.  I will split the firewood later in the fall when it is cooler.  I should have enough to heat the shop for the next two winters.  This is an example of part of what I have been working on.

*! That's huge. A few years back, I had a guy cut down an oak tree that was dead, about 36" across, and I thought that was big. I was cutting it into slabs and rolling them down a slight incline to my wife, who was splitting them. She got ahead of herself and rolled a slab, and when she got to the bottom, it fell on her leg and pinned her. I couldn't hear her over the noise with my earmuffs on. I finally saw her, and dropped the saw and went to lift off the slab.

She had a pretty good sized hole in her leg and could hardly walk. I took her to the ER, and they cleaned her up and packed a LOT of gauze into that hole. Guess who got to clean and pack/remove that gauze for the next week or so...something that I've never done before and thought I never would be doing it. She's fine now.

I survived the Hyfrecator 2000.

Oddly, I think that the NSRA Southwest at Oklahoma City is still on for this weekend.

HAMB Drags are canceled but there will be some other nostalgia event at the dragstrip on the day originally scheduled for the HAMB Drags.  Obviously it was not the drag strip that canceled the event.  I guess we know now where the tracks priorities are in relation to safety and money.

Puyallup and Spokane Good Guys were both canceled last week.  Seems to be a Washington State issue, not the local areas call.

I received notice the Pomona CA swap is cancelled..  Local swap meets here are all cancelled till October with a review then.  Local swap Meets are usually held on County community  college property, so we deal with the government.

Crosley National meet was cancelled in Ohio.

Crosley regional  meet in Calliefornia was cancelled.

Drove down from the Chicago area yesterday to SE Indiana Lawrenceburg to be exact to watch our oldest Granddaughter graduate from high school today. They were able to hold the commencement exercises in the football stadium. So proud of our girl. Hard to believe we have a granddaughter old enough for college.
Four spectators per graduate allowed in the stadium, lots sitting outside the stadium fences watching. EVERYBODY stood during National Anthem. Social distancing was so-so, masks were suggested, but few wore them.

Good to hear the girl did well and there was a graduation event.  Out here there have been various types of graduations for the kids.  Drive thru the school parking lots with certificates handed to the student in a vehicle.  Small parades inside the school grounds, etc.

Well I went to renew my drivers license yesterday. My wife and I put everything together to get the Federal License (? ) so we had all of the necessary  papers with us. They put all the information in their computer and then they had me stand behind  the machine to check my eyesight. With only one eye that works I already have a restriction on my license that any vehicle that I drive has to have side mirrors on both sides. That's easy enough to live with but my new license has me restricted from night time driving. The "Cruise In" that I've been working to drive the Jeepster to lately is on the 18th of this month. It will be held on a Saturday from 4:00PM to 8:00PM so I'd be safe to drive home. I'm lucky that my current license is good til August 1 in case The Jeepster would break down on the way home. I can start drinking in the evening because I'll have to have a designated driver. GPster

did rear brakes on my 65 merc 1/2 ton while a buddy tried to figure out wiring the 78 column to the 65 harness . I need to bend the shift arm on the column as it has been bent forward so does not move a large enough arc to get park and low gear . my front end parts came so I will do that soon. Might have a DD out of this truck yet . It was my DD for 5 or6 years but has sat the last 5 or so.

I've been offered a temporary  job by my former employer. For various reasons they find themselves in a pickle with few  qualified HP transmission workers.  The shop owner called me last week , asked if I would sit down (at a distance) and discuss details, hours, days worked.

Actually: short story is they made some decisions and moved personnel around. They knew it might whiz off some folks. They did not anticipate 2 guys walking out. Businesses make unpopular decisions every day. It is part of life.

I planned on some travel this summer after I retired. Then the virus hit, shut downs hit. My wife did not want me traveling much because of the virus risk.  So here I sit doing various things around the house, helping my brother, etc.

The job would only last 60 to 90 days.. of course it has been 110*F and higher here lately. The shop only has evap swamp coolers.

Tony, doesn't sound like a fun time to me. My work called once after I retired...I didn't even ask how much...just said I couldn't leave my new pastime - building hor rods and having fun.
A good friend will come and bail you out of jail...but, a true friend will be sitting next to you saying. "Wow...that was fun!"
