I have almost 2 days in cleaning the dirt out of the shop and going through the storage shed. It's spring clean up here this week and I threw away stuff that I'm sure I will regret in a few weeks or months. The cost of shipping anything that has some weight has put me out of the used parts business. Some of that stuff I've tried to sell for 3 or more years. It's done now. :)

My wife and I cleaned out the shop last year and threw out stuff I would never use or haven't used in years. Some of the smaller stuff I did sell, and we got organized so now I don't spend hours looking for stuff.

Bob, its good to see a post from you. And the food sounds better than what baby birds have to eat. A little. Warm puree, mmm. Gack! Here lately, dinner has come from a can way too often. You give 'em whut-fer, OK? Found some pretty neat TV westerns, give em a whirl if inclined and able-

Changed my commute route last week since we never got locked down but traffic is lighter. Partway on a new road. Half the stoplights, same time and distance, and the DD GT is up to 23.5 MPG average.

The new dash and gauges are ready for paint, don't look like a weeks work, but it is for old guys.

You have an awful lot of gadgets in that HOTROD. I am bringing you a gold chain next time I come out there. :)

I like GOLD!

So I decided to upgrade my alternator to a 150 amp from my 100 amp on the coupe yesterday. Speedway here in town has a power master chrome on on sale do I bought it online and then drove out to Speedway Motors to pick it up curb side since the counter is closed. Got home and it has a bald spot on top where the chrome plating missing some. It would't be a big deal but it is right on top where you would see it when you looked in the engine compartment. Soooo I call them up and ask about exchanging it for a better one since the counter was closed and how to go about that. The nice lady on the phone told me they are not accepting returns right now so I cannot exchange it. Once parts leave the building they are not coming back in at the present time. I could buy another one and then return it the bad one later when the counter opens. I had a gut feeling I should have checked it before I left but she said I couldn't return it even then. Guess i'll just wait till the counter opens up again since there no car shows to go to anyway around here. Hope it will be before July 4th to go the Goodguys show which we plan on going to. My friend actually got a call from Stacy at Goodguys telling him the show was still going on at the present and asked if he was doing good and looking forward to seeing him in July.

IDJ thanks for the link to westerns ! i favourited it ! When I was a young boy I was going to be a cowboy when I grew up . I was devastated to find out at the age of 8 that my high instep would not allow me to wear cowboy boots . I had planned to work on my uncles farm until that ill fated day at the shoe store . Watching westerns is good for the soul .

Theres a pic of me at about eight pushing a wheelbarrow of firewood in my Dan'l Boone coat and cap.  I had the Marshall Dillon type shirt with embroidered star with my name in it, that Grandma made, on under that. Never got to be much of a hatchet thrower myself, but... know what you mean. Theres some real good shows on that list and I like how the host always puts special emphasis on "Enjoy this!". Because you only see them the first time once. They are great tonic for a man in his fifties because they were cheapo reruns on TV after school for us. 8)

Dad called them "shoot-em-ups". My folks still watch Gunsmoke, just like newlyweds. I love black and whites but they never had a b&w TV. They went straight to color, from no TV, around 1965.

Today, me? Noticed this epic glob of wheel bearing grease upside my shiny black Pontiac door. Not mine thank goodness but what a mess. Only on a just-washed week.

Bought a new toilet today, from Lowes.  Will get it installed tomorrow (friday).. It is a long story like always.  I am replacing a 10 yr old toilet with same brand, make , model (updated)  that cost us 40 dollars less. ?

I may buy some new parts and fix the old toilet I am removing and install into the bathroom I use most of the time..  Yes.  The bathroom my wife uses most fo the time will soon be on its 3rd toilet in 21 yrs.  LOL  I have no further comment.

New toilet installed.  Wife happy.  Happy life.

On the path to the install. I pulled out a small plastic tackle box , that I use as a misc box for plumbing fittings. Most of them copper, other items in there too.

At that moment I discover more screw drivers.  Stubby Craftsman blade and phillips.  this is good since during my sorting and selling mostly Snap ON Tools after I retired from Hughes.  I sold ALL my stubby screw drivers without thinking about it.  LOL

Ah ... to be dumb , stupid and lucky

Went out and cruised the drag last night.  Helena had an ordinance to not allow cruising for the last 10 years or so, but it was ok'd. There were at least 200 cars there and everyone was good.  In high school I cruised a 65 Impala 327, 4 speed, and 4:11 gears.  Last night was my current 65 Impala 502, 5 speed, 3:08s.  Deja Vu !!!average age was probably 50 - 60.

Had the right rear come apart from age on the DD yesterday, going 75 on the interstate.  Took me longer to unpucker my rear from the seat than to change the tire and be on my way. Five minute(s) flat.

I made a fixture to hold a piece of stainless trim so that I could take out a couple of dents.  A local shop made the dents when they were trying to instal the trim. A good guy just had bad luck.  I need to hold it so that it will not move as I work, and I needed a cut to fit back up dolly made of wood.  The area I am working is a compound curve.  The length of the area in the photo is about 12 inches.  You can see the two small dents.   It is the rear window trim for a split window 1963 Corvette.  The trim is probably expensive and hard to find.  Hopefully I will not screw it up.

Working on this, about seven hours in, probably three left, so much detail to do! This is larger than I normally do too, about 24" X 20"
