We always see disguised and prototype cars in the area I live, it's right at the end of one of the expressways that goes through Detroit. Tonight my wife and I were out for a drive and spotted a new 'Vette. Got a couple pics, but when the driver saw me taking pics he dropped way back.

I was talking to a guy from product development and this subject came up. He said the driver would have to report it so there are no surprises on line on Jalopnik or similar sites. They know they can't stop it, but they want to know it happened.

Looks mid-engined as we have heard. Rear looks a lot like the current model.

This is the second sighting for me, the first time, a month or so ago, it was coming at me and by the time I saw it there was no pictures to be had. It won't be long and they'll be driving around here with no camo. When the last "new" 'Vette came out I followed a pair quite a ways through the local area.

The guy I talked to also said the front engine Vette will stay around, at least for the time being.

I've heard that a DCT will be the only trans available. Its shifts sound pretty crisp in the attached track video.

Also, here's a link to the new Vette debut, July 18th

Front engine car is gone. The paddle shift automatic is way faster than the 6 speed but for those of us that like to shift it will be missed. Base price is under 60k and for that you get 0-60 in under 3 seconds.

The last new Corvette I was in was the C6 Z06 prototype down at Bowling Green KY a couple of months before it was released. I don't know why I would ever need anything faster than that but they keep getting faster. I never even set in a C7 but I will drive a C8 as soon as possible. I think I need this experience.
