Any "guesstimates " of what the body shell of a 1939 Chevy sedan weighs?  No doors or deck lid.  Need to lift one.    Don't want to lose it once it's in the air.    Thanks for any and all input.
I am CDO, kinda like OCD, but in alphabetical order, like it should be!

Tell yourself that it weighs 5,000 lbs.
Then rig it for that.
No worries.

I would guess about 450 to 500 lbs.

Harry,  probably a wise choice.   LOL

Enjenjo,  Thanks.  I was thinking about 700 but really have no basis for that number.

Well, I know when we were younger four of us picked one up to install it.

Just to offer some info: I bought a Harbor Freight a-frame crane this summer before starting on the 72's renovation. It was $579 plus tax. I should have bought something like that years ago. It will extend to around 12' in height. I'm not crippled and the body wasn't damaged. :)

Got a deal on a used Harbor Freight gantry crane, trolley and electric half ton chain hoist for $475.    Should do the job nicely and come in handy for other projects.  Thanks to all for the input.
