1-2 shift in second on a C-6

All the C-6 trans I had locked it in second when put in second and would not come out but the C-6 I used in my 66 F100 that is from a 78 will shift from first to second so it seems to me that someone has bee into the valve body,I think it might have a mild shift kit in it and would that make it do a 1-2 shift when the selector is in second.

Standard operation the C6 is for 2nd gear in the manual 2nd position from the Ford factory.  From late 1967 year : on forward.

The 1966 C6 had a different valve body design on the first year of the C6.  Many people do not know the first year of the C6 had a green dot valve body. The C4 also had a green dot valve body.  Same with Mercury and Lincoln

Shifter placed at the green dot ... the trans would shift 1 , 2 , 3...  In the non green dot position: the trans would shift only 1 time
