I agree with your statement about the drip rails. The rest of the truck has been modded. What should be left untouched???

He drew his line in the sand at keeping the icebox-looking handles but drip rail shave was a maybe when we started out. If anyone asks, the answer might be thats where the body mod money ran out.

If I was doing an F1 for me, that roof would get deflated somehow. Thankfully I think we are safe from that ever happening.

There was a truck that was done in Texas several years ago that had a mild chop and the top pancaked. The one thing that I'm always aware when I look at these from 100 feet away, is they could be sectioned some and look better. When I took the pic of the 32, 72 and the 51, it's obvious how tall they are. Right below the belt line would be my pic. I'm not game to try.

If somebody asked, I'd do it but there may not be enough space between me and a grave to see it through. 

Been concentrating on pan ends and bottom edge / corners and this dark background helps. Only really looking at bottom outside corners here-



I'm the guy who'll have to do it and I declare that to be within mud range. CAD supports this, at critical points. More pretty-up around the bumper openings is straight ahead-





Its a gorgeous day, I am enjoying myself but the corners were challenging to bring to this point. Alls I gotsta do is pretend its weekend and I have an old truck.

I'll make some pilot holes next then untack bumpers to set up bolts and to finish out the openings.

As much as I wanted a smidgen of center drop on that roll pan, it just wasn't to be. Turned out flat on bottom all the way across. Wrap it up, I'll take it.

Yup, the back of that truck looks far more finished than any did in stock form.

Stock, IMHO, they are a visual train wreck.

No really visible change here, but I spent a chunk of afternoon finding and correcting one last thing that looked messed up. Bottom half of one side sat with a little twist where I connected center and end piece-



So now, with bumpers in or out, the whole face lays down flat on the floor-





Got started adding bolt tabs-

Did tabs today, and fill ins on bumper ends, and welds on inner slot ends. And stuff.

Just showing that they are bolted in, and one finished slot end. Added a little edge there for some radius so body color continues into the slot like up front. Maybe I can get the thing on the truck today.

There was no consideration of looks from the rear when they originally came of the drawing board, that's for sure.

A final fit check this AM... trimmed some interference on back edge of slots, good to go. Made weld holes and slathered the stuff with black stuff. I'll clean the weld holes and put it on next-

Yes. 

Dang sure ain't weld-thru primer.  I'd say installation was a snap, and it was, but wow slag ball city when epoxy and plenty of it is around. Its on but the plug welds are nasty. This is as close as ya get-
