Bumperettes also mudded, just can't see in pic.

Looks like a bunch of gut dents to me.

I'd be happy if those were my fenders you were working on. :)

Lots of folks would call it a ruined bondo bucket. You know, the "My work doesn't need filler" crowd.

It's getting there. I wondered if there was a method to covering large areas with mud that was different from what I do. You appear to use the same method. Have you seen a different method?
TEAM SMART

Yes.

The grey stuff is supposed to be after filler. I have an ethical issue doing this. It is wrong and stupid.

This and this is what I'm working on. There will be a thin stick on rubber down in the cowl / fender gap and I'm trying to tighten up the hood gap over middle of fender.

The hood hinge got skewed somewhere along the way, sits way high now.

Skated over this side of the cab with a block. Not real promising-

That valance and bumperettes arrangement will look neat though.  :)

It's good to watch. Little things become apparent as the build progresses.

If only the little things that become apparent were good, that'd be something. What I realized is that when it last left my stall, nothing good happened and much was made worse. I am redoing all of it. Yet another hood latch is in consideration now, an aftermarket unit for 53-6s. I hope its clear now that having people "rough in" mud work then prime, while providing a billable primer pic earlier, costs more and takes away any opportunity to massage metal work thats been done.

Got the hood side and front gaps whittled down now and cowl fit is OK but this bottom back corner hits so a little to do there with hood off. I still have to finish out the fender bolt hole area that goes on at top of bracket. Or eliminate that. Anyway theres no hood bumpers or latch or cowl rubber in place. Just one taped on piece of rubber.

Slathered the cowl top yesterday-

Shaped it then took the hood off today-

So hopefully for the last time, this-

My brackets that weld to the hood skin and rear brace are right there in the blurry background, just not cut in half yet.

I'm not planning on going to the perfect gap level on mine but I might wake up and go nuts with that on down the road. :)
