Quote from: "jaybee"That looks a lot better.

Thank you sir. The one in the post just made has me less uneasy about it all. I'd hate for somebody to stare at it because they like it then realize something is crooked. So I been fretting over it best I know how. The motivator is imagining an article lead shot with a low front angle. A mistake would be right out there in front of God and everybody. I am aiming for a nothing stands out condition, pretty much. Key things do have to be just so.

I may make it through this symmetry pursuit by only the hair of my chinny chin chin so will skip a shave to improve odds.:)

Friday went like most have in recent times, hard to accomplish anything due to unforseen circumstances. More story than pictures. Which I uploaded this morning but then the big orange update button on blog editor didn't do anything. Restarted the phone, did other stuffs, and may get back to attempt #2 later today. Wanting to keep foruming on the correct burner, see?

Speaking of which, in transitioning away from providing content for HRF and in the interest of preserving friendships made there, I made sure a handful of bestys knew to find me here. Only the gentlemen, I assure you and I do feel entitled to do so when after all, it was Wayne P who invited me. I regard this as a good small environment and don't blab about it to the world.

So if you keep up on this thread, you saw this pic a couple weeks ago and it began as an afterthought napkin scribble and ended up as an avatar for my bud Rip VW from over yonder. He has a Sleepy T build and is a good fellow and I wanted to take a moment to welcome him aboard the round table since it may take awhile to get a post together showing his build.

So, welcome to here Rip. :D  I gotta warn you thats one strike already... not complaining because your avatar or whatever here appears to be some sort of Model A hybrid or... whut the hell izzat anyhow?    It was whatever I was scribblin that day. Supposed to be a nonrepresentational rod but I remembered Model T not a somewhere after drawing the body line. Like where the roof is messy I was like aw naw not round, pointy! It ended up in color that way, forever wrong but thats what we are here for mostly... help with mistake avoidance. In this case, no matter. Just a scribble, couple inches across.

Wait...you invited gentlemen here? Oh hell, there goes the neighborhood...

Glad you did, actually. I wish I knew more people to invite in here.

Ha. Yeah screening requires observation and interaction over a sufficient length of time to witness ups and downs and Rip has an accomplished skill and knowledge set while being open to different approaches and ranges of opinion. Pass. He should fit in fine and perhaps a little fresh meat may draw out the ones with cobwebs on their password.

Turns out my pics did post, so now to write the story but then chores. I may have trouble reporting the chain of events so bear with me. I was disappointed but the job is OK and I have tomorrow to blow it apart.

I am just head-pounding furious. Nobody can be made to understand either.

I like to say you can only be screwed over if you allow that opportunity, and I solve things by eliminating it at whatever the cost. Thats where this has to go because flare ups from forum crap absolutely cannot be allowed and that means zero participation. Friends or no. I been doing fine. Forum and traffic are the only things that flip the mad switch. I will have to uproot life and move for a mediocre pay job just to lessen the other, impossible-to-eliminate cause. If I know whats good for me I have to stop. Here, now, and never look back.

Sorry. :(

So hey there IDJ, I do thank you for the invite and I like my Avatar that you drew for me. It is close to the real deal and I like it. Who knows maybe the blower you so generously added. I am going to see if I can shrink it down to avatar here. The other place allowed me to go 195 X 195 and that kept it pretty kool looking. This post is my 7th I think so I will start playing around with the photos now and get some pictures loaded up... That is if I get the system figured out!  So onward and upward...  8)

Howdy Rip :)  Welcome aboard and enjoy. It was my pleasure making the pic and I was kidding about the strike. Not about the anger trouble though. It is mighty embarrasing but real so if I can, I'll just stay away and see about healing. Probably will still read though. Have at it! Its a good bunch here.

Sure hope to see you post some more once you've had a bit of time. I thoroughly enjoy seeing your work. I certainly get what it's like to lose something you've worked hard on.

jUST LAST WEEK i STOPPED MYSELF FROM TAKING A SWING AT THE MONITOR WITH THE PIPE I HAD IN HAND! That was my computer at work , and basically summed up my work week .

Thanks, fellow 50-somethings.  :)  Forums are best left to the retired 70 somethings who have desktop computers and get bored with the High And Mighty Board. Only someone who could be a fly on my wall might have a chance at understanding. But it just doesn't matter. Posting like I have is only an expression of undue interest in myself.

Last I knew I was to tear down the truck Monday. But when I hit the door suddenly that had changed to already supposed to be apart on Monday. By lunch, that deed was done. Ready or not. "You ARE done, aren't you?". I thought my log states status and now realize it isn't read. I did start welding hinge brackets to hood.

Just don't let anyone tell you grille and bumper gotta be off to change fenders on these 17- ups. Ford trucks. My life now. The bed rails with stock tires and lift sits at nose level and with the front end clear up against the lift there might be room to open the tailgate. Seriously, wow... new vehicles have gotten extremely out of hand. The automotive manufacturers ought to just quit. What they produce is fullblown ridiculous.

By the way, that supension on the 250 has heat treated seat belts next to the front tires. Its not unlike limbo... Just how idiotic can we go? I was told to be glad I wasn't doing insurance work.

I know one thing. March will be ten years. I will take time off this year, if only to sit in a lawn chair at the shop.

Most everyone knows that an LS is a dimensionally small engine. Some of the front drive units sure remove that point. Do you know if the firebird owner did his chassis? The Ford having the flares installed is too tall for me to get in. :) I'm still curious, why does the shop do the work on parts before they're blasted?

No know, about the Pontiac. Touch door handle on that bigrig and it throws running board at knee. Theres probably a rope ladder option too just haven't located the button.

If I said the boss was a painter, would that be an answer?  :)

Blasting is paint prep. Existing coatings provide interim protection.

In the case of the 67 Fairlady, I suggested that path because it was already stripped and primed so no damage was hiding. In this case, all I know is I was admonished for knocking mud off so I stopped immediately and last week I found myself having to show the windshield bed as an example of why blasting was even needed.

Come to think of it, I cannot say for sure that 51 cab left the shop because I didn't ask or confirm. So to correct the words on my wordless post: F1 cab left the room.
