Finishing up small items today. Put a tag light on, made a bracket for the air filter and mounted the windshield washer. I fastened the fuel filler neck to the bed and got started making an enclosure for it. Lots of hours, not much progress.

It rained half the day and put me behind a little. The fuel filler enclosure is welded, bondoed, primered, painted and installed.

That is slick like the rest of the truck. :) Very nice.

Getting close to the end. I cut and buffed the hood. I saved it to last because I wanted as much time with the buffer as I could before doing it. I installed a mirror on the left side and it seems to work so I'll order one for the right side also.

Miniscule update. I pulled the wheels off the truck and went 27 miles away to have them balanced on a road force balancer. That solved the vibration at road speed. I connected the wiper switch to the washer pump from the crown vic. The original wiper switch had 2 connectors for this. Working under the dash isn't as easy as it used to be but the task is completed. I don't know if anybody will ever use the washer but at least it's operational. :)

That looks like a good way to do a fuel filler...possibly a little more convenient than the common centered, flush-mounted filler in the bed.

yes the filler location is a good idea . you could still fill up with a load in the back. 8)

Mid afternoon at O&S. The new tag light is installed. It's an led with a rubber grommet that fits in a 3/4" hole. Turns out to be polarity specific. :) Next, the doors are removed to be repainted. I hope I don't screw up!

End of the day at O&S. Doors sanded and ready to mask and spray tomorrow.

I don't believe I screwed up! :) There is light orange peel to be sanded out but there's no large insects or other mistakes that I can see. It just became 5 oclock somewhere. :)

As a youngster : Mom would tell me if I was not making  mistakes, I was not doing anything.. There are days I'd rather be doing nothing, for the fewer mistakes.

For fun at O&S, I cut and buffed the doors. Installed and put back together. What a pita. :) However, they look sooo much better. It's 5 oclock again. :) Ps. the truck is dirty.
