I can stomach all the world's rust but those spaghetti shots gore me out every time. :)

Lunch break. I found 1 more rust spot to repair. I cleaned off the engine oil cooler and it appears that one of the lines is leaking. Parts order being compiled. :) Cab is test fit. Plenty of room around the drivetrain.

Lackluster update. The cab is bolted down. I have to make some spacers for the front on the rubber pads. The originals were rusted to bad to be reused. I spent lots of time looking at things trying to make sure I'm not missing something. I'm making a parts list of hoses and ac items to be ordered. The power steering and oil cooler hoses are almost impossible to change with the engine in the crown vics so I'm ordering all new hoses and hoping for the best. I'll pick the engine up about a foot to put the hoses on and then tighten the engine connections when I sit it back down. I had company a few times today. Always enjoyable but I don't get as much done. :)

So... put the visitors  to work.  Or hand them a camera to take photos.

Thanks for the advise, Tony. Next time Chip Foose comes by, I'll put him to work. :) Just in case anybody wants to know: the cop car front springs are .062" larger in diameter, the sway bar is .1" larger in diameter than a standard c.v. or grand marquis.

Most of today was spent doing yard work. I harvested a few more parts from the crown vic. I'll be able to use the exhaust with a little work.

You talking Chip or Chimp ?  You have "non car People"  that visit?    Hmmm.

After an hour of work, the chassis is in the shop. I would like to get the driveline figured out, all the hoses replaced, front brake lines installed, exhaust run, and the trans mount done in the next couple of days. :)

Off to a good start this morning. Then things slowed to a crawl. :) I had a piece of 1/4" wall square tube that I cut for the trans mount. Milled slots and welded to the original trans crossmember. I dug out the driveline that came out of the truck. If you remember how I repaired the spring pads because the pin wasn't in the right location, I now know why! The rear drive shaft wasn't the correct one for the truck. It was about an inch too long. :) I spent time measuring drive shaft angles and ran some calculations with a driveline calculator. I want the drive shafts to be safe to 120 mph. I removed the yoke from the crown vic driveshaft. It has a large cup u-joint that I wasn't familiar with. I dug out the drive shaft from the 96 mustang and looked it over. I removed the yoke from it and that's what you see in the pic showing the carrier support. The shaft is the correct length but hasn't be aligned and welded yet. I'm going to do more measuring and thinking about shortening the mustang driveshaft for the rear. It's reduced in diameter on both ends. Both ends would have to be removed to shorten it enough. All the new lines and ac parts arrived today. I'm planning on doing some other stuff tomorrow while contemplating the drive shaft situation.
