I'm just wondering where you found a floor that nice that didn't have a good cab on top of it. a few years ago I found a 61 Chevy truck cab that had been rolled over. When they took the cab off it was rolled on it's top, and had stayed there about 50 years or more. When I found it the roof was gone, but the floor was pristine.
Welcome to hell. Here's your accordion.

The man I bought the truck from had found the cab. It had been stripped out. The top and back had huge dents. The only rust in the floor plan was in the main brace which you have seen me remove pending repairs. I didn't ask where he found this. Now, I'm curious so the next time I see him, I'll ask. :)

This is the rightest thing I've seen in quite a spell. I think its great. Do the doors fit? By asking I am not suggesting they don't but am curious if there was a check of that. I coulda missed it if you said so because when you go to work, you hit it hard and a lot gets done.

Its the sound of our voices that lulls them to sleep in their computer chairs. Perhaps if we use all caps and speak in excited tones with lots of flailing arm gestures, they will wake up for commercials and a snack.

I have more welding to do before the door check. When I cut the braces out, I think I'll know if I'm in redo land or not. The cab is outside under a tarp. This is still hail season here so my wife's car is in the garage. This weekend is the Pueblo NSRA so it will be next week before any more progress is achieved.

The story on the replacement floor: the truck was in my area. It had been disassembled for some reason. The owner needed some doors for it. By word of mouth, the man I bought it from became involved. He had some doors that he was going to sell for the cab. While this is going on, the cab owner is arrested and going to jail. His friends were going to sell the cab for scrap metal when the next owner stopped them. He bought or traded for the cab and owned it several years before I came along and took the whole mess to my place. That truck was sold new in my town and never left.

It was after lunch before I got started today. I put the doors back on. The left was as it was. The right was the same but I thought I could improve it. I cut the bottom door rail on the floor and cut a piece from the old floor pan. I added a little over .062" to the width of the gap. The rear of the cab is welded except for some spots that I'll do from the underneath side.

KB  Do they sell drive, motivation and enthusiasm by the 6 pack or case in Kansas? If so ship me out a case to Michigan.
You are incredible with your projects!!

Mid morning break, very much needed. :) I've spent the last couple of hours bent over sideways working on kick panels. One of the pics is of additional trimming. I didn't know exactly where I would end with the splicing. Don't forget that I'm half blind when looking at the welding. I was leaning over the braces in the cab with little support. Shaky would be an accurate description. :) Each time I finish something, I think the next item will be easier. I'm about to throw that thought in the toilet!
