Made the pigtail exactly as pictured and it does not work for me. I can get the turn signal to work and I can get the parking light to work but I cannot get them to work together. The only difference is I am using a 6 volt single filament bulb and not a 12 volt. Will this make the difference?  The brightness of the bulb does not diminish when experimenting with different combinations of the wiring. It has to be something that I am doing wrong but for the life of me I cannot figure it out.

Do you have an LED bulb? You need bulbs like this  https://www.ebay.com/itm/20Pcs-BA9s-1895-H6W-53-57-Bayonet-LED-Light-Bulbs-For-Car-Map-Lamp-12V-NEW-White/262489556174?hash=item3d1d98c4ce:g:mb0AAOSweARZcZZ7&vxp=mtr

Check the voltage at the socket when powered by one or the other source. with the parking light the voltage should be lower than it is with the turn signal.

The bulbs that are currently in the sockets are W 55 and if I read the specs correctly their maximum voltage is 7 volts. The wire on the turn signal is flashing on and off and I am not 100% sure of the voltage as the meter keeps flashing overload. The parking light wire is steady at about 11.30 volts.

You only have a resistor in one side, correct? It would help to see a picture. This will not work with an incandescent bulb, it has to be an LED. There is enough difference in load to make it inoperable.

I don't know what I am doing wrong but I cannot post pictures on the site. It keeps telling me The photos are too large and  to downsize them which I have tried without success. I may just purchase the lights you sent in a link and try that.

irfanview is the one I use.

These are Windows applications and I have a Mac. Checking into the help section of my Mac for how to downsize photos.

I figured out how to adjust the size of the photo. The yellow wire on both goes to the parking lights. The Green and blue goes to the respective turn signal. I have installed shrink sleeve which makes it impossible to see but under the sleeve on the yellow wwire is the resistor which is soldered to the diode. The white wire goes to the light and the socket is grounded thru the headlight bucket.

along the same lines. What is the proper way to instal these lights? Do I take the bolt sticking out of the rounded bottom and bolt directly to the headlight bar or do I use the chrome standoffs that came with the headlights. The application is on a full fendered 32 Ford.

Charlie Chops 1940

Mount it direct. The chrome stands are for mounting the lights to a flat surface.

Thank you

I see your problem The diodes are installed backwards. The white stripe has to point to the light. If you have an Ohm meter there should be continuity with the  ground lead hooked to the end with the white stripe, and no continuity with the power lead hooked to that end. If there is continuity both ways, the diode is blown.

Here is a closeup of the diodes. The space to the left is the distance between the diode and the shrink sleeve. As you can see the white stripe is directed and facing the bulb end. I will try the volt/ohmeter today and see if the diodes are defective. I have also sent for some of the bulbs you sent the link for and they will not be arriving before the weekend. Thanks for your help and advice. If this does not work, I will just use the light for either a turn or park light and install some after market lights on the headlight bar.

Got the multimeter out and tested the diodes and all tested good.
