Danny Thompson went 446. MPH an hour or so ago at Bonneville.  He will need to repeat this speed for a record, first thing tomorrow morning.  He is top speed so far.  You can listen to live streaming at https://www.meridix.com/channel/?liveid=Landracing#/

Going to have to get internet in the garage, stuck here in the back room listening to Bonneville instead of working in the garage.

Waaaaayyyyyy back in the 60's & 70's, I was into VW Bugs, and later bought and sold a bunch of 'em. Anyway, I would buy any foreign car magazine that I could find, sometimes even if it didn't have a Bug in it. We were cleaning some boxes out in the basement, and I ran across January '73 issue of Popular Imported Cars. Don't know why I still had it, as I've been out of VW's for many years.

My wife put it on ebay for $4.99, and it sold today. Cool. She sent it out in the mail this morning. This afternoon, she gets contacted through ebay, from the buyer thanking her for sending the magazine out so quickly. She also said that she is the woman on the cover of the magazine, but of course, a few years older. Wow...what are the odds of her finding the magazine with her on the cover?

John, have you heard anything from Hooley about the actual conditions.  Sounds pretty good, but one never knows for sure.

I checked yesterday's Bonneville results and saw that one of my friends, Ed Renck has qualified for a record. I believe he will be 76 this year. :)

Hooley called and left a message that said Don went 239 mph late this afternoon.

I am amazed that there is no waiting to make a run later in the day.

Poteet just want 452.255 on his 'A" record of 416.  464.246 out the back door, they are just flying.

Rick Yaccucci backed up an 'E" streamliner record with a 384 or so average this morning also.
