Quote from: "Crosley"A good friend died this morning after a long illness. Steve was only 51 yrs old.

He had helped me on several car projects over the past 30+  years I have known him

He always had a positive attitude, even the recent years with mini strokes taking his eye sight, loss of his balance,  then the lost of right side movement of his limbs.

RIP buddy

Sorry for your loss..losing friends is tough. One picks one's friends.

Thanks for the kind words on my friend Steve.

Steve was always a positive , happy guy.  Life just kicked him till the very  end.

In the hospital Steve was unconscious for a couple days, then unresponsive to any stimulus for a day or so... then he had another stroke in his brain stem area where the body organ  functions are controlled.  So , we knew it was over for sure. No further hope.

Last week SWMBO got a new TV for our anniversary. By saturday she had determined that most of the old furniture had to go because it was not right with the new TV. So sunday we went a bought some new furniture, From Sauders outlet store. It all came unassembled.  So I have spent the last two days assembling furniture. I have 1 1/2 pieces to go yet. She is worth it though, she has put up with me for 50 years. We are retiring a coffee table that we got used 48 years ago. I doubt the new stuff will last that long.

The weather was real nice this afternoon so I drove the rollin dumpster to work. It's fun to drive. The engine is very torquey which makes it a hoot around town. It needs tail pipes and sound deadener but if you think about your 1st hot rod which might have been a death trap, you can remember the magic of stripped down vehicles. :) I think the next owner will have fun with this whether it gets painted or not. :)

Just got home from the Grand National Roadster Show.  What a great time, except my camera is having fits and only got about half the pictures I shot that were good.  A friend of mine took his unrestored 1969 Boss 429 to be in the show and there was a guy next to him from Colorado with a completely restored 1970 Boss 429.  The guy with the 70 drove it up to Helena last summer for the International Mustang meet and then he drove it last week to Pomona, my kind of guy.  Anyway had a great time.

I am bracing for the cold today . Weather could go down to -40 with the wind chill . Not going to view the spectacular moon tonight ... too cold .  were supposed to get a super blue blood moon tonight , three phenomenon at once , lunar eclipse , blue moon and super moon as it is at its epigee of orbit . Ill watch it on the news from my living room , much warmer .

CK, I think you missed it. We watched it this am, but it was a bit cloudy. We could see the eclipse, but not the blood moon. Actually, we watched most of the eclipse, as the moon disappeared below the horizon. Seems anytime we have a special moon, it's cloudy in our area.

All I saw was clouds at 5am when I left the house. It was very bright and 47 degrees. By 8am, the clouds were gone and the sun was rising. The temp had gone down to 34 degrees. So once again, I missed the once in a lifetime opportunity. :)

Nice going! I know that one has been a long row to hoe. Looks like it grew there and like its up to a cruise... and really  8)  to boot.

Why are idrivejunk's posts so wide in his body work threads? I have to reduce the page sideways so much I can't read the thing. I;ve quit looking at them because of it.

A good friend will come and bail you out of jail...but, a true friend will be sitting next to you saying. "Wow...that was fun!"

Depending on the device used, it does suck scrolling over to read or view, but you ain't missed much anyhow.

I asked for opinions on this here when I started the blog where I post pics. I like detail, and chose a resolution setting at about half the camera's capacity and post those full size so folks can see whats going on. But I have asked for input more than once about picture size and heard only echoes. You may have better luck viewing the blog directly, it does a fine job of fitting images to a screen. The text in posts here runs the width of the picture and the forum does not resize them. Words are just blah blah blah anyway, most just want more pics and less 'junk. My intent is to provide the highest quality posts, with greatest detail and thickest skin, for the group here at RRT. It is by far the most sincere pumpkin patch on the web, and thats a Peanuts halloween reference. :D

I find it behaves best, when using what qualifies as a mobile device (tablet, laptop, phone) to be sure and use the mobile version of the site. Some devices / browsers may request the desktop version of the site. Usually not phones but bigger mobile devices. Check settings, try different browser, etc... your mileage may vary.

Boss says Grant Cox is coming to shoot features on three rides done at the shack where I work, tomorrow. They picked out a warehouse downtown as a setting and hope to do underneath shots on the rack too. The red 69 Camaro got full cut n buff underneath when we did that one. Others are the grey 68 el Camino and 73 Firebird. Woot for the crew! My involvement in those jobs was not terribly significant. I saw a couple new awards (they light up    :!:  8) ) on our glory shelf today too, from that latest show in Wichita. That reminds me I need to catch up on RRT's recent car show pic posts, I have fallen behind. Thought it was off season and that shows how much attention I pay to shows. But I dig the endless variety and appreciate everyones efforts on those posts.

I started on a 71 Chevelle job today, getting gaps all around on a fairly cream puff specimen with a new right fender and headlight panel. I hope it doesn't fight like that red 68 Mustang. It looks ready to shoot, by the way.

To others who might be bothered by pic size but not saying anything- we can work it out but only if I know theres a problem. Thanks.

Is this better? Try it out and see if it suits. Click on the image, then when the image comes up, click on the image in the new window. It will come up near full screen.
