Will L60-15 tires with 3.25" back spacing on the wheel fit inside the rear wheel well of a 57 chevy car?

This 57 chevy 4 dr hard top belair has been in my good friends family for around 40 years.  My friends father has the beginnings of alzheimer's and he would like to see it in the local cruise nights burn out contest Saturday night. It has to be drug out of a barn that it has been in for around 7 years, have a transmission put in it, wheel cylinders, carb  tires etc.etc. and get running in 2 1/2 days after work.  I might have some tires for it if they will fit. I am 25 miles from the car just thought someone here might have a idea if they will fit

Thanks Mike

Mike, wish I could help. Almost every 57 I worked on had something modified. :(

Real memory test .....I don't remember an L60 fitting try-year Chevies unless they were REALLY jacked up in the rear ....  The wheel house is not that wide ......

As bob said not without jacking it way up. I would think you want something easy to spin for a burn out contest.

Thanks for the info.  No they wouldn't fit.  We found a set of wheels and tires that came off a friends 72 Chevelle.

We won the burn out contest. I know burn out contests are in a way kind of childish but this cruise night is a big event for our town. There was probably 400 people there and when the winner was announced the grandson that drove the car took the trophy and the mega phone the announcer was using and said a few things about his grandfather and gave him the trophy. The ole boy had tears in his eyes for a hour after.

Good times were had by all and allot of memories were made.

Burnouts and childish in the same sentence. I resemble that remark. :)

Well the tears may have been rubber haze in the eyes, or at least we can allow that excuse in this case. Right after my ride had it's first wax job, she got second place and a giant burnout trophy and that... was pretty much the high point in my life. Congrats on having automotive fun with kinfolk. :)

We had a burnout contest at lunch time in front of school when I was in grade 12 . 10 cars and 2 gallons of bleach . We all got kicked out of school . I swear , when my T is done I am going right back there to do a righteous burnout !

I must be missing something. You speak of childish as if that's a bad thing...
