chimp koose

what would it look like with just one larger diameter headlight at the outer edge ?

idrivejunk

Good question. Be around 20 hours from now before I could explore that but I am also curious. Can you verbalize anything about either of the staggered size ones?

I think that the black space between lamp and bezel is going to be a key thing. It could be a gap or a stripe on the bezel and fine tune the look by how much.

Fairly certain its going to turn out like the bottom one, maybe I won't have to do any more serious stuff to it. The quick n dirty edits seem like a very effective tool but some times I like doing a more finished looking image. This was a grainy little pic but it was easy to do a rough edit with. Only other image I found to work with had lighting issues worse but is much higher quality.

Quote from: "chimp koose"What would it look like if you put the one larger diameter headlight in the place of the outer ones AND used the headlight trim from a 62-63 pontiac acadian  to lower the light, filling in the gap below it and also blending into the lower hood ?

In due time, I will investigate this. I am curious. However, single headlights idea drew sneers from Mike. Footloose had the same question about singles. I may just let the PC cool tonight though. Thanks for the idea    Soon

That was easy. Looks Barracuda.

UGLY OLDS

The grille & bumper is a keeper .... 8)   Use stock headlight assmb in stock or raised position...Are there any dual lamp assmby's that have a smaller trim ring  :?:  :?:

The six headlight thing  :?:    Ahhh....NO...  ( It looks like ca-ca...... )

Oh...Another thing ...As far as the external headers on the Model A with fenders  :?:  :?:  :?:   See the six headlight suggestion...     I don't think it will look good .....The rest of the car is too smooth to do that ....It will look "cobbled"......Too "Busy"....Maybe in 1959.....

I'll take that as a compliment, Bob... on the 6 headed one. Considering the source. :P  I saw slices of big pipe as headlight bezels today.

The exhaust won't have any effect on the body so... who cares?  If he needs outdoor exhaust, there it is. Cut a hole. I don't really get why having it over the rail is so much different from under, with no hood sides. :? The indoor routing is sure to be "ugly".

This was the first one I did, to see horizontal vs vertical. Four or six new ideas came up now though.

Mike's new ideas-

I believe I have found the missing visual element that makes it click, and that the bottom one here would be difficult to top.

How about this for head lights? 5" by 7"

DING DING  winner winner . I pick the last picture 4 lights ,diamond pattern grille , and the embellishments plus the Pontiac emblem .  8)  8)  Most would walk by thinking the car came that way , those who know different would appreciate the refinement . That in my opinion is a truly good measure of a mild custom

Just as soon as I added the grille treat, I knew.  8)  Thank you, sir. I believe that one is tough to argue with. :D  It ties in the bizarre side molding in a way. There was just too much negative space with the grille plain. ith the painted lower bumper, it needs the bright strip between the lamps in the bumper slot, too. I saw that piece on some car like this, in a pic. The reason I guess I think its the ultimate is because of the "that might be stock but..." factor. Blame it on a Pontiac mind. I sincerely hope they choose edit #21, the owner's style choices have reportedly been unpredictable in some areas.

Next render project is probably A tails.

Frank, I did ask for Mike's thoughts on halos for it. Positive response. I was so entertained though just now I almost forgot the show-n-'splain part.

Yonder I go-

Here is mysterious expectation-vs-reality shot. All catgril edits (except the Cyclops and Phantom) were sent to the owner, whose style choices have leaned toward the unexpected in some areas.

For example, the flex joint was spotted and nixed. But, but... moving it forward more is the only option since with the hourglass chassis the remainder of the exhaust will be mounted solid. Here are a couple tailpipe shots. He is fusing nearly all of it with TIG, adding rod as little as possible..

He wants to test this outlet style with a leaf blower to be sure it doesn't blow downward, but this is where she stands-

These hinges, previously shown, are worthy of note because they are not made for a 59. These are the 60 Biscayne part number. Chances are good that you haven't seen this done, especially with Douglas Fir. Pocket-style conversions, perhaps.
