Turns out to be another full application of polyester primer, as insurance for the black show car. Fingers crossed that I don't block that. But I might.

This car is gonna be sweet . there are so many features in the body lines that make it interesting . I hate to say it but this car would not suit metalflake except on the roof . The lines of this one need candy or pearl to really set it off .  8)

Often, customers need to see repairs completed before deciding on added modifications. Better late than never!

I did some coaching today, helping Footloose Jr imaginate how to do AutoLoc large bear claws with this design which has so much space in the jamb.

Thats about where that needs to sit but its just sitting there hung in a slot. This shot is looking straight down the driver's B post with door open a little. Striker has to be all the way inward as far as the nut cage will go, right near the windlace. You'll see.

He got the passenger door shaved also. No pic.

While coaching in posterboard, I said to myself if we didn't get rid of the ugly window adjustment bolt... we'd be passing up a dang good chance. So, this piece is going to go all the way down the back of the door. All smooth and welded.

If you look closely to your left, you will see the actual Loose Foot. :)

Heres how its going to still work but with the bolt inside the door. More coaching. ;) The channel has only been smoothed on the bottom, no significant length was trimmed. Where the old bolt is will be welded, and the shell will only be cut out in the latch area.

How could I have forgotten to post this?

Thats a rear, 20 x 13 or 14", says Schott on it.  :!:  Yes its made to order and that box is gigantic.

Its a topsy-turvy world

Mike wanted to see the bumper upside down.

Is it    or    or  ~:)  or does it look like  :)(  :?:  :?:  :?:  :!:

That bumper has had the chrome stripped but not the nickle. The plater advised that we could save a bundle by grinding that off for them.

The bear claw is coming along, with extensive coaching-

Fancy engine cover next ?

I think we're calling it the air cleaner.  :?  If you recall how the 73 Trans Am looked, it had a big fancy bit of ductwork but I think the idea is to visually obscure everything between the valve covers. I could draw up 3 or 5 designs myself pretty easy but its his baby now. I brought him an old set of stock chrome valve covers to play with since the customer doesn't like the Butler logo ones. I can't blame him, personally... I think valve covers are not a place to be seeing welds no matter how perfect. I say that with all due respect because they are amazing as welding and engraving showpieces go. Mike says no names ought to show unless they sponsor, and wants the covers to say Catalina. Me, I'd like to see good old Cal Custom finned no logo painted black with ribs silver. And no matter the outside shape of the air cleaner thingamabob... I'd like to see three humps and nuts on the lid in the middle, or have the original, oblong lid as the centerpiece.
