Playing catch up. I get exhausted just watching KB.

That came out alright but with a wobbldey spot along the bottom due to the different radius on the new part and my haphazard technique. Heres a straightedge up there in case it freaks you out.

This is across the diagonal seam-

Inner rocker treatment done and flaps welded. Since this pic I also welded the scored sides.

OK, one corner of the body left...

Had to rush out today   so no pic. Imagine this cut in three sections and 2/3rds made.

How about some fresh scenery with a milestone and a deadline? I said I'd be done with metal work on the body next week. Various welding under the body, over the frame (plus some grinding) remains, plus constructing the rest of the inner wheel wells (all but the front section behind the seat)...

...and that should be it. Whew. Except for this, which I have the patch nearly made for. Last rust patch!

On the right side, the lip under the wheelwell-

Nope, theres no holes in that, sayeth the LED flashlight. Sometimes I wish I did not hold myself to the no pinholes standard. It was like chasing rabbits while being chased by warpage wolves, I tell you whut. Heres the inner patch-

Stay tuned for side 2

And now... for the flipside.  :)

Can I turn up the details a sec? He's gonna use tools.  :-o

Story begins at TAD U, where in a slipshod and haphazard manner I'll attempt to make a thing for a place.

Awright, theres the thing and the place, now heres the dealy bobber-

Hey that was fun, I just mashed the pedal and it bended that whole thing. Let's ride that other wheel thangy too, can we huh?

Look out, here comes the tippy part on this pass-

Hey, I know!  How bout lets visit the VA-

Wohoo, howdy Grandpa!  :D  Do we have enough tickets left to ride the beady thing again? We do? Twice? This piece might make it into that spot right soon...

Whaaa? Time to go home? Aw maaan. Well, at least I had been welding up the leftover seam at the bottom of that previous above the lip patch. Scary part is, I don't think this is a record for most patches.

And now- for the thrilling conclusion of the barf war segment of this presentation.  :D

Had to squish is some more then fine tune it with channel locks...

But it went. After I cut it.    In my defense, the wheelhouse goes around the quarter brace right there so. :)(

Thats that. I started putting this newfangldey thingamajig together for wheel orderins' and tub finishin'.

English wheel became your friend for a bit. :)

I dream of some day using it in proper context, too.  :)

Not much to show today, short day. Been making CAD patterns to close up the tubs except for the front panel.

I put the Wheelfit rig in place at our estimated wheel dimensions: 20 x 12" with 6" back space. Its a little tight inside and loose outside but brake rotors are not yet in place. Plan is to proceed with bodywork (which might be me also) and fab the front panels of the tubs after true ride height can be established. Pic shows it 2-3 inches above our desired ride height. Those tub front panels are small and of little structural concern. Next, I'll finish up the big upright well sections and close up the wells at rear.

This tire fit thing ain't particularly precise but it is a help.

What is the throat on the bead roller behind the car? That looks to be at least 36". :)

That sounds right. It is from Woodward Fab. Its my other buddy. :)

The chevy pic brings back memories of the 53 I did. Starting with all the holes I filled on the firewall. :)
