I am a molding hater but with the antique color scheme, it needs it. However if you ditch it and use a good dark pearl or candy, suddenly its this century and fuzzy dice, side moldings, and chrome skirts go on ebay

I would lose more chrome than this if it were me.

UGLY OLDS

How about a simple straight molding with no "swoopie" on the rear quarter  :?:  :?:
Just carry a straight line from front to back following the body line  :?:  :?:

Try a single piece of straighttrim on the rear quarter only. :D

I like the last dip without the rocker cover the best so far.

Keep the input coming! Theres a front and rear face we ought to look at also.

I think I like that one the best.
Welcome to hell. Here's your accordion.

I'm with Carnut on this. I like the dip without the fender skirts. I think the straight line piece will interfere with the bulge in the fender.

That's what I was thinkin'.. 8)  Just about a foot shorter in the back....   It looks like even the original trim mounts right at the bottom of the "bulge"....Not on it ... :?

WOW....I just noticed ...Is my next post reason for celebration   :?:  Awards  :?:  Prizes.. :?:  Jubilation  :?:

Thin, straight-line trim for me, to accentuate the length, & fine lines.  Also, I would suggest losing the front fender-mount mirrors, sitting out in the breeze; find a door-mount mirror more in keeping with the smooth look.  (Or just move the existing mirrors to the doors....)

Thank you sir. I kinda like it too. Can't quite be straight though. But I like how it ends up parallel to the road.

When you guys say dip, you mean where the molding dips down on the quarter, correct? You are correct about the interference. The straight stick has to either turn down or twist the last foot or two at the rear. Putting a point like up front at the rear so the molding doesn't intersect with the bumper might be a help.

A whole foot shorter? After the molding dip theres a spear dip... so to continue hugging the underneath of that contour there would have to be a slight dip last foot or two of a straight molding. Now I want fondue. Or Copenhagen, not sure which.

Here is your shiny thoughts penny and a jubilant half cookie.    :D
