I did look around at cat head tail light lenses thinking maybe they could be instead of backup lights..... naaahhhh

Just like anything else, throwing out several rough ideas quickly then thinking through each later seems to work best for me. Unless they all suck. Sometimes thats the case, like now.

I would lose the chrome trim on top of the front fenders and on the front of the hood--a lot cleaner look. No fender skirts, though!

Thank you. Yes the fender ornaments I would like to see gone! I don't know if I could stand to lose the arrowhead being a Pontiac man but if it looks bad and they are not sold, must lose it. Definitely no skirts.

I had wrong info about the engine that was ordered, it was not all aluminum. Block is iron and its 467 cubic inches, thats the newest hearsay. I just want to say its here! It has D-port Eddy heads. Thats all I've got for now.

I still gotta make braces for the floor, my initial attempts were for a flat floor and won't work. Everyone agreed that keeping the tilt of the seat mount area of the floor is best. I have left adding seat belt mounts until last since I don't know what seats, tracks, or belts will be used. The floor rearward from my new pan is still open because no wheel / tire yet. The tunnel section that remains open can be made once engine and trans are in and headers are bought and installed. I plan to butt weld all the pieces of the big pan together with it out of the car and try to get some decent welds so it isn't a grinding nightmare.

Somewhere between tortise and hare. Making the big pan was a delight, and I am now a big fan of the e-wheel and bead roller. An abundance of mistakes were made and can be seen if you look, but I did not make any of the pieces twice and I don't think the floor will stand out as an obviously fabricated part.

Front seat supports are made but I still have to make the ends where they connect to the rockers. Where you see the flat strap going across, thats the rear of the front seat and I plan to add body mounts or possibly just cushions there. My tubing will be notched on top so angled plates can be sandwiched in between it and the pans at seat mount points, which will be rearward tabs spacing the bolts at 15" front to rear. I won't finalize any seat belt mounts until I can at least toss that GTO seat in.

Oh yeah... and the tubing is 14 gauge, center sections are 16, pan is 18. I am thinking maybe 3/16" plate at seat and belt mounts. Do you guys think those supports look like enough? :?:

Here is a wider shot, from a less bewildering IDJ-angle. Play like the car is greasy side up and you are standing on the axle. Aftermarket front pans start at that farthest brace but everything in this pic is from scratch. And growing.
