Who's going?  My club, the Midwest Street Rod Association of Illinois, will be pitching its big white tent on Wednesday on the grass near the swap meet. Stop by during the weekend if you're nearby. I'll have my black & white '46 Chevy sedan.

If you're going to Louisville it looks like some of the bridges over the Ohio River from Indiana are now toll bridges. The tolls look like they are $5.00 for two axles EACH WAY. Transponders from the 16 states in the E-Z Pass system will work on the bridges ( https://e-zpassiag.com/about-e-zpass/where-can-i-use-it ). If you don't have a transponder, a picture of your plate will be taken and you will be sent a bill for payment. Below is a link to a site explaining the system and a list of non-tolled options off that site.

Non-Tolled Options
The Clark Memorial Bridge, also known as the Second Street Bridge, connecting Jeffersonville with downtown Louisville remains toll free, as does the Sherman Minton Bridge, or I-64, connecting West Louisville and New Albany.

We will be there the whole weekend buying parts.  No ride this year.  We will be camping in IN.
Hope to see you all there.
Some people try to turn back their odometers
Not me, I want people to know "why" I look this way.
I\'ve traveled a long way and some of the
roads weren\'t paved.

Vickie and I will be there all weekend taking up space in the grass with the 46. I am not allowed to bring the stove anymore after the last fire.... Looks like I will be buying a lot of coffee.
You never have time to do it right the first time but you always have time to do it again.

Louisville is too hot for coffee.  You can always make iced coffee. 8)

I don't mean to hijack this thread.   I am having problems getting around much as far as walking is concerned.    Just wondering if anybody has rented one of the scooters there on the grounds.   Are they reasonable as far as cost and will a charge last all day?

Can't get in to see the surgeon until Aug. 11 and hate to miss the show but don't want to go and just sit under the canopy, either.

My daughter-in-law has MS and recently got what looks like a small Segway, or a hover board with a handle.   Can go about 10 miles on a charge.   Thought about borrowing it but figured the "police" would not approve though it is handicap certified.

Any thoughts or comments?     Thanks.
I am CDO, kinda like OCD, but in alphabetical order, like it should be!

I don't know about the scooters at L/Vill , but I rent one at both G/G Des Moines & K-zoo in the fall ..$65.00 at day, it's fully charged when you get it & that should last you all day ..If it runs down or breaks, you call the number on the scooter & they bring another one out to you ..Most come with a cute little basket to put things in & are a LIFESAVER for those of us that have walking issues ...

The idea of a "Segway or Hoverboard" sounds kinda scary ...Your problem walking concern is possibly balance related ...You have no need to balance on a scooter .. A Segway or Hoverboard thing is ALL about balance ..Remember, you are usually in a crowd of people...

What I found to be helpful is to carry your cane with you on the scooter ..That way you can "park" & use the cane to walk around a swap meet booth or take a closer look at a car & then resume "scootering" .....The cane is also VERY useful for people that refuse to move out of your way ....With practice, it can also be used like a cue stick..

Thanks for the info.  Very helpful.  Not sure I want to spend an extra $260 for the 4 days we will be there.

Last year at Pueblo, I saw a 3 wheel scooter with a lithium battery. It folds up with quick attach clamps like on bicycles. I don't think the whole thing weights 60 lbs. Now for the downside: the owner said it was around $1800. Might be able to find a used one somewhere. :)
