Phil, I would gladly trade you rain for a great day at a car show. :) The forecast for tomorrow looks like I may not even try to leave town.

Exercise in patience. I have spent way too long cutting the pieces for both sides and welding in one. There will be a top on the inside. I do believe that it will accomplish the enclosing of that area. :)

2 of the pics should be described as maintenance. The other is working on the other spring pocket on the rear of the cab. My eyes are tired so I quit. :)

Breaktime because I'm old and I'm standing in the cab as it's rolled forward. :) Pics are of filling the fuel filler, the work area and putting a top plate on 1 side of the spring perch opening. I will use caulk to fill the air gaps. Others have said this so I'll say it to: this isn't a how to description, this is just for everyone's entertainment. :)

Mid-afternoon brain and eyeball break. Pics are of the left spring cover, reinforcement plates for the front cab mounts on the floor, crossmember that replaces a part that was cut out. The floor is angled so I pie cut the new brace 1/4" on both ends.

I just sat down and I'm pretty sure that's where I'm going to stay. :) The pics are of the new bearing for the steering column. I don't have any set screws or can't remember where I put them so these bolts will do until proper fasteners are obtained. I had flange nuts to weld to the column. Sure makes it easier to do.  The floor mount bearing is the thrust control for the shaft. This bearing aligns the shaft with the housing.

This is so minor I feel embarrassed to post it. :) I raised the chassis up high enough for me and the helmet to get under it. I capped the motor mount frame tubes. The rest of the evening was spent doing little stuff.

So you have gone from sitting to laying? Boyoboyoboy.    Shall we paint eyeballs on your helmet and vise grip a sleeve to a frame rail in case anybody walks up?

Seriously, the progress and the work quality shows you are driven to drive this beast. :0-0

I saw one of my friends today. He gets emails with all the pics. His 11 year old grandson has been watching. He says it's cool. In between grandpa and me, I think we've ruined another young person. :)

Breaktime. :) Probably close to quitting time, also. I started the day moving the panhard bar for the 3rd time. When I was younger, that would have annoyed me. Now it's just how it is. :) The previous location hit the tie rod before full lock on the steering axis. I pulled the hairpins and ground down the mig welds. Surprisingly, I didn't find porosity. I tigged them and re-installed them. I tapered the frame horns. One side is finished and the other needs to be capped still.

Lunch break! The shock mounts that came with the kit didn't allow for enough compression travel. I didn't figure that out until it was weighted down on the floor. I made mounts out of 1 x 2 tubing and reused the bolt bushings from the originals. I'm thinking that the headlight mounts may go on top of the shock mounts. How's this for a spreader bar? This is left over 4130 airstream tubing for a NHRA approved wing mount. :)

I feel as though you are intentionally not using mustang parts in this build , will you be using any metalflake ?

kb426

C.K., I thought for a while and the only part that I may use is an O2 sensor that is left over from the mustang. Before this is over, we'll see if F150 parts bear a resemblance to mustang parts. :) I'm taking a break. I have inventoried brake parts and I believe I have enough to plumb the system. This pic is of the calipers on for the 1st time and front lines installed. I bought a roll of nicop for this. I'm anxious to see if it's as everyone has said. :)

So far today, I have welded the bottom side of the spreader bar, greased the spindles, run front brake hoses, installed the rear hoses, ran lines to the proportioning valve and made a mounting bracket for it. The hose is safety wired to the bracket.

UGLY OLDS

Hey ...I ain't tryin' to be stupid or picky or nothin', but is there some misalignment in this shackle  :?:    Remember, I'm planning on using the same kind of front end on my A that you use & I tend to study these pictures so's I do it correctly....

If it is misalignment, Is it intentional    :?:    If not, what causes it  & how is it avoided :?:

EVERYBODY around me is trying to talk me out of using hairpins & a beam axle  & going to an IFS....
I can't understand why it wont work.....

Bob....
