She looks good, Bill. Amazing frenzy of work you did there, cranking out solutions by the truckload. Only thing that comes to mind as far as input is I wonder if you could put tall sides under that ribbed panel or curve it lengthwise so its more of a cap than a cover... to help the profile's proportions plus add covered stow / haul space. Nice going and good luck on the other stuff. :)

kb, you have an email I can send some pics to?
The last thing I want to do is hurt you. But it\'s still on my list

It's friday evening. The project is in the shop. I did a few small items and came to the conclusion that I have the brainpower of a talking monkey! I hope some rest gives me some brain power. :)

Think time. :) I have rear bed posts and tail lights mounted. Not without drilling 2 holes in the wrong place and them filling them in. Still short on brain power today. :)

I'm surprised that it took as long as it did. We have tail, turn, brake and a feed for back up lights that don't exist yet.

Lunch break. The f150 hood hinges have gone on to a higher purpose. :) They were shortened, sectioned and welded. I installed plates for support on the front panel and welded bolts to the front side. The heads were ground down for clearance.

I have succumbed to T.B. :) The pics show the bed cover frame and will give you an idea of it's operation. I have a pair of gas shocks that were too light for the 51's hood that I plan to use. There's more work to be done on the top before it will be fastened to the frame. I have to get that laid out before I can think about a latch. It's back outside under the tarp. The shop is reasonably clean and another week is about to start. :)

The project is back in the shop. I have both seat belts installed. The cooling fan refused to work. I un-loomed the harness right next to the relay and found the spade disconnect pulled into. It goes together with difficulty but obviously there is something not correct. That will be addressed tomorrow.

I finished up some small items so far today. I put heat shrink on the fan feed that came apart. I now have a modern item called an inside door handle. :) The latch assembly had plenty of rust and red dirt inside it. I have a horn button that works now.

I removed the bed cover frame and welded the underneath side. I have about 1/2 of the fasteners installed. I rolled the sides over the bed rails. I need to mark and cut so both sides are even and do hammer and dollie work to get them even. I test fitted where the gas springs can be installed. I need to do research for ideas on a latch mechanism. At the moment, the brain is done. :)

I saw the other night on the Velocity channel that they suggested using the fasteners of seat belts for fasteners on a tail gate rather than chains and hooks. Might be a cheap and quick option. GPster

You can attribute this to Murphy's law or dumba**. Actually, lack of product knowledge.  I was unaware that the rubber plugs on the shifter/top cover all leak. I ordered soft plugs and have repaired such. It took way longer to get the cover off than to install the plugs. On to the next thing. :)
