Ok, Bob, I'll do my best to explain what I know. (that won't take long) :) The spring perch through the axle is not keyed. It takes a holder on the shackle end to align it while tightening the nut on the bottom. I went back and moved it a little so you could see what it should look like after final adjustments. Pete and Jake make a swivel perch bolt that fixes most alignment issues. This being the ultimate in cheap doesn't get them. Here's what little I have to add to the i-beam versus ifs debate. 1st, if you're going to drive them, you need 3" of compression travel. 2 will have it bottoming out all the time unless you drive 10 mph or on perfectly flat roads, none of which are in my areas of travel. I haven't got to drive a rod with the real good ifs so I don't have a qualified opinion on apples to apples. Most i-beam users are after the look. If you're A has fenders and is real low, you won't see what's there unless you get under it.

Today's stopping point. Brake lines run from front to back where they will run up the firewall  to the master cylinder. 1 pic is showing the desired shock travel and 1 shows the ruler across the shock mounts which is the height I'm planning on using for the headlights. Running brake lines perfectly straight is something that I don't do well. I haven't made a straightener yet. :) Now it's time to mow the yard. :)

Fuel lines are roughed in. I thought I had clamps to attach to the chassis. Not so.  :( I'll decide to order or fab tomorrow. I'm going to power up the pump and check for leaks before I go any farther.

Today was a work day instead of a play day. I have installed a rear trans seal, and installed 2 more cab mounts. These go at the front of the inside of the cab at the door posts. I'm about to put fluid in the trans and I'll be ready to put the cab on tomorrow. I'd do it this evening but the chassis has to roll outside to flip the cab and put it on the lifter. It's raining now. :)

Frank, I haven't got a plan finalized yet. The mufflers are going in that area so I have to get that laid out before planning the location of any braces. My 1st thought was to come off the bottom of the frame rail with a straight piece and make a triangle out of the mount. The muffler may not allow that. I have figured out why most use lakester headers. :)

I got started this morning doing things that didn't require thinking. :) Braces on the cab mounts and the top radiator connection. I tried to get organized for the rest of the day but that seemed to be stuck in low gear. I got the cab back on. I made several shims to help align the cab with the front mount that I installed last. I bolted up the clutch and brake masters and ran the 2 lines left for the brakes. Seems like a lot of hours for little crossed off the list. :)

Ladies and gentlemen, we have brakes. I know this will be important if it ever runs. :) I'm sure those of you that do this every day have run into this before. The recess in the front brake caliper wasn't machined deep enough for the line to have clearance. After finding that I had leaks, I removed the lines and took the die grinder to the calipers. Problem solved. The other pic is of the 17" steering wheel that I purchased. No power steering, large wheel. :)

I thought that would be a problem solver for me on a Chevy truck I was building one time, The increased diameter of the wheel does give you the increased touque because of the longer radius of the circle BUT the 17" wheel has a longer circumferance which has you having to turn the wheel rim faster to equal the same amount of turns of the steering wheel.It ends up as a hidde surprise, didn't work for me. I'm not only weak, I'm slow. GPster

Today's stopping point. The lower radiator pipe is welded up. I plan on beading all the ends before filling the radiator. The next step was to bolt the upper intake on. Took longer to find all the parts then it did to bolt on. :) I went to the shed and retrieved the wiring harness. I started laying out the engine and decided to quit after that. I'm tired. :)

Necessary evils plugged in. I have a carb and a single 4 intake in my left overs. Looking at this makes me consider. :)

Bob, you are correct, I will take a little time to analyze the Ford engineers plan versus the O & S garage plan. :)
I got started on a seat mount this evening. I need to do a little more contemplating before bolting it to the floor. :)
