I also have a 2 post in my home shop. We always had 2 post racks in our commercial shop so I went with what I was used to working with. The main downside w/a 2 post is it's a pia to work under the dash or anything inside the vehicle while on the lift. The 10,000 lb 2 posts I've seen appear to be much heavier built than 9,000lb models. I went with the 10k one, we have had a Chevy Surburban on it . no problem.

QuoteRemember the 2 post with a front and rear post for under the axles ? Those should be buried in a mine shaft .

I had one of these at a Ford dealer where I worked, as I was the trans guy. No safety locks. Came back from lunch one day to find the front one down almost all the way. Yikes!
I survived the Hyfrecator 2000.

The point that becomes apparent to me is that either of the modern lifts, is better than none. :)
