Would this hunting style earmuff work for automotive racing type events? I didn't know how loud or sharp of a sound it took to switch from amplify to protect. The events I attend require protection but like drag racing there are gaps between the loud runs. Sitting next to friends, it is difficult to talk while wearing ear protection that doesn't turn on/off.

They work great at the indoor range. Can hear the person you are talking to and silences the sound of the guns. I looked around and bought one that the package was damaged cheaper.
