Yes. Calipers that are over a couple years old typically have the bleeders frozen from rust. Some times a little heat will break them loose, but most of the time no, they are so rusted they just break off.

Enjoying the fact that things are starting to slow down and the company is leaving . Yesterday was our 50th wedding anniversary and we had a small gathering of about 150 of our friends. We wanted to keep things simple so we asked that no gifts be given and if anyone wanted they could make a contribution to the local humane society. So now we will have to unload about 500 lbs of dog food and kitty litter from the car and present them with a $1000.00 of donations. I'm sure I'll think of something to do that's car related come Tuesday. GPster

Congratulation to you and Mrs. GP.
You never have time to do it right the first time but you always have time to do it again.

Congrats on your 50th, Joe!

Keep some of that kitty litter for oil leaks and oil spill clean-ups.

I got all the parts in for my Escape except the rotors and brake pads. They will be here tomorrow along with sway bar links, they were also bad. So it's all together except for the parts I am waiting on. It took me two hours to get the left rotor off.  I ended up fabricating a puller for it, and still had to use heat to get it off.

Last couple of days I have been replacing the rear axle in my 1996 Ford truck.  I am selling the truck but the rear was howling and I thought it would be better to fix it, than to make excuses.  A simple job that has been very difficult.  I will test drive it tomorrow.  The salvage yard assembly had better be good, I do not want to do this a second time.

I got the Escape back together. Just as I was ready to take a break the parts showed up, so I put it all back together, bled the brakes, and put the tires back on. I still have to drop it off the stands, and torque the lug nuts, but otherwise it's done. Now. back on the truck.
