Our local car club has decided to step into the current century and set up a website. Our problem.......None of our members are even remotely capable of creating one.So.....Thought I'd ask if anyone has a suggestion for a source to get this accomplished.Don't need anything to elaborate, just the basics. Thanks!

We have a web page supported by Word Press and a Facebook page.  Both get lots of views.  If you go to our www web page and scroll to the bottom and click on Word Press it will take you to their site and it explains how to set up a page. But I agree the Facebook page would be easier to set up.

Thanks for the suggestions. The facebook thing was brought up but most of our members are not on facebook and most won't join.It has been explained to me and sounds simple but our members are mostly older and refuse to have anything to do with facebook. They want an actual website.

I did a quick search and see that Hemmings will host a basic car club website for free. It says you can either build it yourself or they will help if you send them the materials you want on the page. https://www.hemmings.com/clubs/hosting . I don't see where they host a forum but there may be a way for members to post articles or something. If you want a forum, there are simple free forums, separate from Hemmings, that your webpage could link to. Just a thought.

I found a couple of websites they host. http://clubs.hemmings.com/classicglasscorvette/ http://clubs.hemmings.com/earlybirdshoosierland/

Also, I found a website hosting forum that has some discussion about hosting. Hacking and malware seem to be a problem with some hosters. http://www.webhostingtalk.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1

I know many ppl that will not use the Facebook.  Usually their concern with privacy & tracking by Facebook ... others dont like the BS that can happen on Facebook.  I have blocked or ''muted'' so much stuff & people  on facebook. I have it how I like it now.  If I offend ppl with my posts or language  on Facebook, tough

One friend will not use the search engine Google.  he says they gather information on you.  I had to explain to him that ALLL of the search engines do that to some degree.

Thanks guys for all the help. George......The set up with Hemmings is exactly what we are looking for. The Corvette Club site is nearly identical to what our club was looking for so will probably use that as a template. I am just finishing up a large custom home for a customer and am about 1/2 way complete with our new home so don't have a bunch of time to dedicate to the project......This will make it MUCH easier!
