I am currently in Paris, France.

Yesterday we visited the D Day beaches at Normandy and today at an art museum I stood by a model for the building of the Statue of Liberty.  In a way it seems fitting for Veterans Day

Tonight we are going to a friends home for supper. He was a French foreign exchange student of mine the first year I taught school

The last two weeks we ate ourselves north through Italy

Yesterday I sent a Veterans Day greeting to a few of the other veterans that I know.  One of them called me right back.  He said, guess where I am standing.  Of course I did not know.  He just happened to be on the flight deck of the ship I served aboard during my time in the Navy.  He was visiting New York City where the ship is a museum. A funny coincidence.  As a side note, my wife and I are taking our whole family to New York City in the spring, and we plan to take them to the ship as part of the trip.
