WZ JUNK

Yesterday I started experimenting with a damping attachment for the exhaust to change the frequency or harmonic in the exhaust system.  Right now it is coming on at cruising speed on the interstate.  When the cruise increases the throttle the exhaust roars.  I am trying to make a clamp on experiment to see if I can change or modify the rpm when the harmonic happens.  First time out I used a muffler clamp to attach the arm with two weights (studs and lug nuts).  I did not notice much change.  I will try different length arms and weights and I will report back later.  Feel free to critique my method or make suggestions.  Also note the purposely placed toe in the photograph.  I think we should make the toe in the photo a mandatory part of all photos as per kb426.

over the past few months.. helped a friend build  a 428FE.. then cobbled together a way to hold the radiator on the stand using some conduit and super strut..

for some reason.. i am fairly good at sticking round conduit into square tubing.

Thats what I've been doing wrong all these years, culling the toe shots!      Its like a signature  8)

Seems like every time I work on the GTP, a Dremel is the primary tool

But I figured out how to switch my center caps from cowboy to indian. (Mustang ponies to Poncho arrowheads)  :D  Using 5L oil jug caps and minimal fuss. The fit is amazingly secure, I threw the car around a little and haven't lost any caps yet so they will probably stay put.

You actually have those carbs mounted correctly for that Engine/Manifold/Linkage combination ...  8)  Nobody ever accused Ford of doing anything the same as others ...

If the homemade damper doesn't solve your problem, look at the flexible exhaust pipe sections. Many import cars use them to eliminate exhaust harmonics.

I would congratulate you for really "Thinking inside the cap",  but you can see above where that kind of thinking got me   before.....:?

I do my best thinking under a dunce cap, nose in the corner...

Kinda feel like that today. I'm alone in a room full of bodywork projects and its quiet, ah. Hey but I am almost ready to make a 33 rocker replacement thread :)

Video of it running during cam break in..  and yes.. it only stayed at that rpm for a few seconds while i operated the cell phone camera..   primary carb in the front facing backwards... progressive linkage

there are more videos of it but the uncorked exhaust just completely over modulated the audio track..

another few hours with the carbs apart a few more times.  idle screws are out too far for my liking.  so enlarge the IFRs

Had to get a chunk of 33 Ford picked out of my eye today.  Nifty. Been there since yesterday   Next week they will dig out the rust. I look (at things) like this for the moment-    8)

Went right past my dad-blame safety glasses.  :?

that's not good..   when i worked on the big boat... windy days when sanding the fiberglass on the front deck.. i went below and dug out a scuba mask that fit me.  a little spit then some water on the inside.. no crud in eyes.
