WZ JUNK

I had a furnace anomaly early Monday morning.  I had redesigned and made some changes.  Most of the result is my fault.  Monday and Tuesday I rebuilt the top of the furnace and it is now working correctly.  I replaced all the burnt metal and insulation so that it appears new again.  I hate to say it, but I made the mistake that caused the fire.  The flue was not fitted correctly and the insulation that I had in that area was not the best kind for the conditions that the leaking flue caused.  I now have a tight fitting double wall stainless flue and fireproof insulation.

Sometimes you make mistakes.  The funny part of this is that I continued to heat the shop most of the day with the furnace as it appears in the photo.

Bob, I put one of these things on my mom's cane and she says it has saved her butt a few times. It flips up for times she's not on ice. She says it makes the cane more effective when poking people too.

My wife and I removed closet doors, room doors and other small furniture from our two bedrooms. Tomorrow we will move the dining room furniture to the kitchen, the living room stuff to the dining room, and let the guys put down new carpeting in the living room.  When they finish that, we'll move the BR furniture to the living room so they can do the two bedrooms. Geez...

Thanks George ... I have seen those & agree they are excellent for getting peoples "attention" .. 8)

My problem is not so much my cane slipping on the ice .. It pretty well stays where I put it ... My feet on the other hand have a mind of their own......

You must be leading a charmed life.. Never had surgery before.  You've got me by 2 years and I can't remember how many times I've been on the table.

I hope everything went well.

Yes, I realize I have been lucky, I know many my age or younger that have been in many times. Everything went well, although the Dr. told my wife that it was different than expected. When he came to talk to me beforehand he looked at my paperwork and said "hmmm, this is going to be fun" 😳 they used the da Vinci robot, man that thing is cool, wish I could have watched. Really not much pain so far, keeping my fingers crossed!

When I had that done the only thing that caused pain was the bandaid they put on it. But don't get to confident and over exert yourself. And if therapy is available, use it. They teach you ways of moving that doesn't hurt it again.

Therapy, good. Flue fire, bad. Our family was sitting down for supper one evening, near the old Franklin stove. There was a whistling log during grace, or so we thought. Phone rings, I answer, its the neighbor. "Did you know theres six foot flames coming from your chimney?" "Nope, thanks!" click. There were some warm firemen that night, but it was caught in time. Dad likes to burn red elm and oak now ha ha.

Been smoothing out the engine bay area of a Fox Mustang this week, getting rid of unwanted holes and such in the core support and airbox / battery areas. Made these covers today to hide the tops of the rails and all the wiring and ugliness there. They attach with one screw each, and will have to be trimmed for the harness to pass through. It was a fun hour or so and I thought I'd share it. Whadya think, are they cheesy?

nice fix for under the hood . Cleans it up nicely .Is the fastener easy to access when the engine is in?

Good question and thanks. I haven't the answer, unfortunately. Have not seen an engine for it yet. I put a tab and fastener in case its done as-is. I considered putting bigger holes and using push clips OE-style, but this seemed not only the simplest solution but the most revise-able if need be at mock-up time. I did noodle into it far enough to not attach it via flange with screw facing engine lol. It just seemed like in line with the sway bar mount was as good a place as any to put a small phillips head or whatever. I envision a seal of sorts, for rattle prevention if nothing else. Just like maybe some vinyl door edge guard on top of the rail flange with maybe another notched piece at the tabbed edge.

No band aids here, I got four holes punched in me and they just glued them shut! No worry about getting too confident, I'm going to enjoy vegging for several weeks.
